Summary: *** I bought this for the youngster but paid under a tenner when it was on offer on Amazon earlier this year and it is Pretty good. It isn't exactly the best but it isn't the worst either - it's simple enough and worth buying. Well, certainly worth the tenner but I can't say whether I would have paid much more for it.
Summary: Good graphics, not bad gameplay, ok sound and a ridiculous sense of speed, make this game a good recomendation for the price. Although not the best game of this type, some very pretty graphics make this game a joy to look at. The sound is ok, but nothing special. The gameplay is again nothing special, and does get a little bit repetitive, but the huge snese of speed that you get when racing around the tracks helps make the game alot more exciting as you progress.
Summary: All in all i have to say this game is well worth its price. It's graphics are fantastic, the handling of the craft are realistic and the breakneck speeds you can fly at are unmatched. However, being a huge fan of futuristic racing games this title is not a scratch on Wipeout for the X-Box's main rival the Playstation 2. The redshift speed is pointless as the whole screen becomes blurred and you cannot see the track.
Summary: I had this gamw with an Xbox bundle, and had read other reviews and it sounded quite good. It is good, the speed is fun and as you progress through the game the speed increases. When you win a race or beat your score you get money to upgrade your ship. The upgrades you can do are to have more time for boost a lap, improve your weapons and sheilds.
Summary: I got this game as a replacement when I first bought the console as part of a package, as another game wasn't in stock. At first I wasn't too excited about this one, as I had a few other games to get through first (Halo and Splinter Cell). But when I got down to it, this game was, for me, suprisingly good. Once you've started playing it is very addictive, cycling through the difficulties and unlocking new maps and characters.
Excerpt: If you want to show off the graphical power of your xbox then this is the game for you. If you loved Wipeout on the PS1 / 2 then this could be the game for you. If you love 4 player split screen fun, then this is the game for you. This game is clearly a Wipeout clone, though Wipeout wasn't the first of this genre... Quantum Redshift is a futuristic racer with weapons. Fly around the curvaceous tracks at high speeds, collecting power ups and blowing the other crafts up.
Summary: This game is a great game, It has a similar theme to Wipeout but is much better, its made by Microsft. The racing is quick and action packed as each play has 3 Different weopons, A Shield, A Homing Weopon and a non-homing weopon. You also get turbo's each lap and have the option to save them for use on the next lap etc.
Summary: This game rocks! As Microsoft's answer to Sony's Wipeout series it illustrates, more than any other game, the huge gap in graphical clout between the two consoles. The visuals are mighty impressive, with no hint of pop-up or slow-down even in the breath-taking, heart-pounding, eye-bleeding Expert mode. Gameplay wise it's a pure 'pick-up-and-play' arcade blast! You won't be bashing it for hours on end, but you will keep coming back for that quick hit time and time again.
