Conclusion: good choice with Sam and Max. and i agree completely that this game will stay with me. i just reread the review, and im not sure i drove home the point well enough that this was a terrific experience. at the end of the game i felt like i had just finished a good adventure novel or something.
Conclusion: I love this game. Seriously, it’s the only game in the past few years that has reached the status of Quest for Glory, Worms, or Sam and Max in my mind. This is going to be one of my favorites for a long time to come.
Conclusion: Well. I am a keen Halo 2 gamer, and I am pretty godd - but these maps aren't. Lets take them one at a time; Warlock - good on some game types, terrible on others Containment - way too big Turf - very good, not too big or small. Good for most gametypes Sanctuary - very good, not too big or small.
Conclusion: ok lets just make this real clear I DID NOT BUY THE PACK IN A STORE... no i payed for the maps off xboxlive instead but i feel that it still comes down to the same thing pretty much. first things first: these maps are really really really awesometacular... oh yeah and they are great fun to play...
Conclusion: While the map pack seems like a great buy, when you pop it into your xbox, you will be a little dissapointed. The new maps, while fun, will take some time to get used to. They have very few distructible enviornments. The relic teleporter glitch is nonexistant on the map pack, and the auto update is a boon, but the extras arent that great. A day at the beach doesnt add too much to the SP story, but it does explain what happens to the 3rd pelican.
Summary: When you try to expand your game library, beyond the big franchises (Mario, Sonic, Zelda etc.) you’ll have to take your risks. Sometimes you can find something ungodly terrible, but other times you can find a hidden gem that needs to be right up there with Mario, Donkey Kong and Megaman, because it’s such an awesome experience. That was exactly the case with Psychonauts, one of the most underrated games of all time.
Excerpt: This is one of those games that help to remind you just why playing video games can be so addictive and time consuming. This is a great little platform / puzzle solving game with a decent amount of playing time and some good repeat value that is well worth getting hold of. Set in a summer camp for clairvoyant kids.
Summary: Psychonauts is a truly amazing game, for Christ sake I'm too old to be playing games like this but this is far too difficult to put down and stay off of, graphic quality isn't perfect but old games aren't exactly in HD/HQ, games like this need sequels there easily isn't anything like it, it has no competition and even if it did it wouldn't be outmatched truly a brilliant game to be played by anyone who wants a change in game or anything out of the ordinary.
Summary: While this game impressed me in so many ways - the concept, the creativity, the genuine humour and the wide range of missions and new abilities you pick up while you play ... this is just a short review to cover one, small, minor detail that the other reviews on here in their glowing praise failed to mention. The last section contains some of the most incredibly inept level design I've ever had the misfortune to play.
