Excerpt: "As an avid fan of racing games, on all platforms, I honestly expected PGR to better than it actually is. The graphics and sound are stunning but the gameplay is extremely limited, even when all tracks and cars are unlocked. Frequently, you can be leading a race and get taken out by an over-zealous AI controlled car, which frequently use the side of your car as their brake!!!! The game is very similar to the Midtown Madness concept that was originally ...
Summary: Im being honest here, i dont understand how this game got good reviews here ... I didnt like this game as much as I thought I would. The value of the Cons outweigh the value of the Pros tremendously. The Pros that were enjoyable were the awesome graphics, the system of advancement is mature and the ability to race with your own music. The problem is the major cons. While there are stylish things in the game, the GAMEPLAY (TOTALLY) [is bad].
Summary: The graphics on this game were simply stunning. However the gameplay not only left you with a bad taste in your mouth, you almost want to take it back to EB and get your refund. The Kudos system is far and away just annoying and I have yet to know anybody who could get past a Corvette in its hierachial list of cars (which only number at about 25 to begin with).
Summary: I bought this game a couple days after I got my Xbox because I saw all the screen shots and read all the reviews for it. Boy were they wrong!! Whoever reviewed this game and praised it for being one of the best racers ever was smoking ... Sure I'll agree the graphics almost can't be beat, but I wanted a racer with more than just good graphics. I don't know what I hate more about this game, the repeatitive tracks or the cars that handle like a Mac truck.
Summary: Was expecting a lot from this game but its no better than MSR!! This is why. 1> Graphics are a lot worse than GT3 on PS2 which is shocking given the power of Xbox. 2> Gameplay/handling a little OTT you need to use the handbrake round almost every corner to get good slides which makes the game very difficult to play with a steering wheel. Also you get horrendous understeer when braking which is very unrealistic and there are no set up changes to be made.
Summary: Well, I was very fortunate in having an xbox and two games bought for me as a prezzie (thanks, mrs :) ) however, besides Halo (buy it; it's ace) the other game was this one; now it looks nice enough, very good even, but is dull dull dull, no fun at all, once you get over the looks you find that there is no actual game!
