Excerpt: When I say this game is perfect, I am saying it with the conviction of a man who has found his salvation. I'm usually a pretty harsh critic, but nothing about POP feels wrong to me. So many games have had you running on walls, and almost as many have had you swinging on ropes and wall-jumping and climbing poles, but none has ever done it and made it feel so, so right.
Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Amazing controls, realistic, vibrant and super impressive graphics, ambient sound as well as some thrilling music, combined with innovative ideas and innovative puzzle, time-orientated gameplay. You can unlock both POP 1 and 2! This game is a gem by any measure. UbiSoft has done well with this one and we hope that a sequel is just as rich if one gets made.
Excerpt: The new installment of "Prince of Persia" is here from Ubisoft, and from the minute you put this game you'll be transported back to the time when you first played the original—except this time it's much better
Excerpt: Like previous PoP games, players take on the role of an unnamed Prince from a Persian kingdom. However, his betrothed princess hasn’t been kidnapped like previous titles in the series; instead, this bachelor prince is merely seeking glory and adventure to please his father, a powerful king besieging land in India. I’m not going to give away a lot of details for this game, because the plot is nicely written and features quite a few twists along the way.
Conclusion: There is no question that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has what it takes in terms of gameplay, graphics, and audio to be one of the top five Xbox titles ever. Only the sands of time will tell if it has a theme interesting enough for people to justify a purchase. I mentioned in my opening that the lack of interest I had in Middle Eastern culture and my fascination with Far-Eastern culture made me pass over the original PoP.
