Summary: I am a huge fan of the pirate game genre, so I was excited to see this game in the XBOX section of the store. I have owned most pirate games for the PC. If you're expecting Sea Dogs or anything close to the old Pirates game on the PC, with Pirates - The Legend of Black Kat, you will be as disappointed as I was with this game. This game might be good for kids learning to play video games, although it is violent.

Summary: I'm really into the Pirate era, so I got this as a bargain item as it seemed interesting. There are a few fun elements (e.g. driving and shooting the ships) but overall it feels hollow and false. This is not the real Caribean but a made-up world, and has no historical value at all. You only get to control one character or the ship she is on, there are no tactics to speak of, and the graphics are very poor by today's standards.
Summary: Bland graphics. Glitches. Terrible and overly simplistic ship control. BORING GAMEPLAY! This is what you let yourself in for, one of the worst gaming experiences on XBox! If you want your pirate fill, just wait for Pirates of the Carribean, which is, quite simply, brilliant fun! It may have its glitches, but compared to Black Kat it's unbelievably better. You can sail where you want, hire your crew, hire officers, raid shipping, smuggle goods etc etc.
