Panzer Dragoon Orta Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: Panzer Dragoon Orta is one of the best games to be found on the Xbox platform, and quite possibly, one of the best games available on any console. THIS is what happens when games are Xbox-exclusive. It is beyond doubt that the extremely intense action and amazing graphics just could not be recreated on any other console. Addictive, smooth, and sophisticated, Panzer Dragoon Orta leaves fellow shooter House of the Dead III in the dust.

  • Summary: PSO is an achievement in every way with outstanding gameplay, graphics and audio it's hard to imagine many games that can outshine it. Lengthwise the game isn't a game that will last much longer than 10-15 hours on your first run through the main game but with so many great unlockables to earn and with the added desire to earn better rankings and to find the alternative routes the game will provide plenty of goods for your money, especially with the full game of the...

Panzer Dragoon Orta

Into Liquid Sky
21 September 2004
  • Excerpt: Orta is a young woman has been imprisoned for as long as she can recall. During a siege on the city she's held prisoner in, Orta is freed by a dragonmare. She rides the beast to freedom and sees the world about her for the first time in her life. During her trip, she discovers more about herself and why she was imprisoned. The story of Panzer Dragoon Orta is delivered through a number of FMV and in-game cutscenes that really go a long way to fleshing out the story.
  • Pros: Awesome design and execution of graphics, Fast and frantic action, Tons of unlockables, No English Dub
  • Cons: Gamers who don't like rail shooters will want to skip

  • Excerpt: As the old saying goes, "third time's a charm," but instead of designing an original work or a sequel to one of their franchises, Smilebit was given the oppurtunity to revive a series that was believed dead: Panzer Dragoon. Created and cultivated by the beloved Team Andromeda, Panzer Dragoon and its successors are among the best of the Sega Saturn's small but fantastic group of "must-play" games.

Game Freaks 365
19 April 2003
  • Excerpt: Panzer Dragoon, the series, has always found a way to successfully combine superior graphics, skill-based gameplay, and a spectacularly epic storyline into one game. And now with the arrival of Sega's Panzer Dragoon Orta, the fourth in the series and the first to release on a non-Sega console, it's difficult to believe that such a seemingly simplistic on-rails shooter could be so deeply involving.
