Summary: I am not a fan of basketball and probably never will be. But, I do love this game. I have tried other basketball games mainly last generation I tried the Street series(also made by EA) and the 2k series but the only game I have enjoyed thus far is NBA Live 2005. The gameplay is extremely solid and the graphics are a shining example of what the last generation could produce.
Summary: This is definetely by far the best NBA game to ever hit any game system up to date, made by EA Sports, NBA Live 2005 is definetely a hit sports game and always will be. I will now break down my review in terms of graphics, gameplay, audio, and online play. Graphics: The graphics in this game aren't actually all that great.
Conclusion: NBA 2005 is described by one word:brilliant. The improved gameplay with playmaker control is brilliant. The one thing that stands out for me is the new All-Star Weekend. Bringing back the 3-Point contest was a major upgrade, if it's not broke then don't fix it. The dunk contest though is far out and amazing addition. That on it's own could have been one seperate game.
Summary: Just like the guy reviewed the game below, he's pretty spot on, although I think it's more fun than what he was describing. In a nutshell, if you want an NBA game this year, spend the 30 bucks and go with Live. The Good + Tight, challenging gameplay. One of the best 2-player games I've ever played, get a friend and you'll have a ball. + Graphics are great. Wide array of dunks, player animations and great player likenesses. Stadiums are stunning. + Great sound.
Summary: This game is by far the best nba game i have ever played in my entire life. Ya, thats pretty good. ITS 2005!!!!! Lemmy just start by saying that this features online support, which is, although sometimes it tends to slow down and lag a bit, APSOLUTELY A MIRACLE, and its about time that EA finally considered that.
Conclusion: NBA LIVE 2005 may not have the presentation that ESPN 2k5 has, but it makes up for it in other areas. The most attractive aspect of NBA LIVE 2005 is its Dynasty mode, which put's ESPN's franchise mode, "The Association" to shame. I love both games, and i think both are worth the money. If EA would lower the price for NBA LIVE id put it as a better buy than ESPN, but until then, if you can only buy one game, make it ESPN's.
Summary: This game is the SHIZNAI! NBA live 2005 is the best game i've ever played in my life! The Freestyle Air really took this game above any other basketball game ever. Compared to this game, ESPN 2K5 looks like 1986 Pacman arcade games in pizza parlors. NBA Live 2005 is a bargain at $50 because of realistic graphics and everything else.
