NBA Live 2005 Reader Review - 8.5

  • Conclusion: NBA Live 2005 is without a doubt the perfect addition to EA's NBA series. With online play, the best gameplay, improved season mode and create a superstar makes one great game. Gameplay: There are basically three modes to the gameplay aspect, season mode, exhibition mode and the all new all-star weekend. I will describe them below Season Mode: Pick a team from either conference and live a real NBA season.

NBA Live 2005 Reader Review - 6.6

  • Conclusion: Another typical EA franchise that needs a very significant upgrade. It seems like EA likes to coast on everything but the franchise mode. It is impossible to make a review without crediting the competition (in this case, ESPN NBA 2K5). NBA 2005 has very good gameplay, but the graphics (and price premium) make this second-rate. As with other reviewers, I always do the superstar/center test.

Good, but where's Jordan?

  • Summary: If you have played NBA Live 2004, then this is a big improvement on it. It has the added bonus of the dunk, 3 point and rookie contests as well as a very detailed NBA manager mode. This is still the best basketball game on all formats, but the only thing is, they still have the legends team, but with no Michael Jordan! They lose a star in my eyes for this alone, otherwise, its pretty good. And no, there is no suspension list to put Ron Artest onto!
