NBA Live 2005 Reader Review - 8.5

  • Conclusion: NBA Live 2005 is without a doubt the perfect addition to EA's NBA series. With online play, the best gameplay, improved season mode and create a superstar makes one great game. Gameplay: There are basically three modes to the gameplay aspect, season mode, exhibition mode and the all new all-star weekend. I will describe them below Season Mode: Pick a team from either conference and live a real NBA season.

NBA Live 2005 Reader Review - 8.9

  • Conclusion: NBA 2005 is described by one word:brilliant. The improved gameplay with playmaker control is brilliant. The one thing that stands out for me is the new All-Star Weekend. Bringing back the 3-Point contest was a major upgrade, if it's not broke then don't fix it. The dunk contest though is far out and amazing addition. That on it's own could have been one seperate game.

NBA Live 2005 Reader Review - 8.9

  • Conclusion: NBA LIVE 2005 may not have the presentation that ESPN 2k5 has, but it makes up for it in other areas. The most attractive aspect of NBA LIVE 2005 is its Dynasty mode, which put's ESPN's franchise mode, "The Association" to shame. I love both games, and i think both are worth the money. If EA would lower the price for NBA LIVE id put it as a better buy than ESPN, but until then, if you can only buy one game, make it ESPN's.

NBA Live 2005 Reader Review - 6.6

  • Conclusion: Another typical EA franchise that needs a very significant upgrade. It seems like EA likes to coast on everything but the franchise mode. It is impossible to make a review without crediting the competition (in this case, ESPN NBA 2K5). NBA 2005 has very good gameplay, but the graphics (and price premium) make this second-rate. As with other reviewers, I always do the superstar/center test.

Good, but where's Jordan?

  • Summary: If you have played NBA Live 2004, then this is a big improvement on it. It has the added bonus of the dunk, 3 point and rookie contests as well as a very detailed NBA manager mode. This is still the best basketball game on all formats, but the only thing is, they still have the legends team, but with no Michael Jordan! They lose a star in my eyes for this alone, otherwise, its pretty good. And no, there is no suspension list to put Ron Artest onto!

Very, very dissapointing

  • Summary: Being a big sports game fan and a major contributor to the EA Sports companies profits for many years i could not wait for november to come around for the new NBA season of basketball and the new "NBA Live" game. However i was most disapointed. it is impossible to control, the freestyle system i useless, it is impossible to take on any defender one-on-one, and defense is impossible unless you have Ben Wallace or Yao Ming on your team (no joke) on your team, also the ai...

SHAQ is BACK in BLACK! Go Miami Heat!

TheNMN, Ciao
5 November 2004
  • Pros: gewaltiger Umfang, perfekte Animationen, Karriere - Modus, "All Star Weekend"
  • Cons: unfair schwer auf höchstem Schwierigkeitsgrad, Trefferquoten der Gegner um die 70% schon mal möglich
