Summary: Alan Wake is proof that video game conventions and movie conventions cannot completely exist on the same plane, at least in terms of the current gen technology. As hard as Alan Wake tries to be "more" than just a game in both it's story and structure, it ends up backfiring on several occasions ultimately ruining the experience.
First half was great, but it gets a bit repetitive

Summary: The first episode was just great. It was a truly scary game, and I found myself getting apprehensive every time the mist started coming around in the dark because I knew the shadow people were coming for me. The music was great and a well done addition to set the mood. It really made you feel immersed in the story. Unfortunately, the story gets really deep and twisted, and kind of distracts from the fun.
