Conclusion: In the end, Ubi Soft’s translation of the popular French comic is an extremely stylistic experiment with a well-tailored story and high production values that offers us a glimpse of what lies ahead in gaming, but overwhelmingly shows that we still have a long way to go. If you must play every single first-person shooter that comes along, then go ahead and give it a rent, otherwise keep playing on of the many other great shooters that grace Microsoft’s black box.
Conclusion: MVP is a tough game to grade. A lot has been improved from last year, but there are still some obvious holes. If you’re not affected by the lefty bug you can add at least 5 points on to my final score. If walks and steals are not a big deal, then add another 5 points. For me, these three issues alone put MVP 2004 behind older games like World Series Baseball 2K3 and High Heat 2002.
