Conclusion: I've purchased and beat MXU and have rented and beat MTX and believe I have a good feel for both. To start off the sound fx for MTX are laughable. The engine fx have more similarity to a lawnmowers engine than the race bikes depicted in the game. Couldn't they have sampled a real bike? The bikes themselves have no powerband of any kind and feel sluggish, not at all like a real mx bike. Unless you rail every burm to keep your momentum, you won't clear alot of jumps.
Conclusion: This game screams mediocre, the only reason why anyone would buy this over the competition is if you really desire online play, because if you don't then this game is a wasste of money, well not a waaste but not as good as its competitors. Everything in this game is done better in MX Unleashed IMO as a person who has played both, But again MX Unleashed doesn't ofer online play so if you want Online play get mototrax.
Conclusion: Great Game! Lots of fun! Nice touch with the career mode, you dont just race, but also manage sponsers and email. The only knock on this game is that in online play the host is not able to change tracksb ut instead has to quit the session and start anew. I would think most online racing gamers, like myself, would like to switch up tracks often and not lose the fellow players that you were gaming with.
Conclusion: Icredible game. It's a shame that Activision did not hype this game, as it might get swept under the rug. This game does everything right. There are very few issues, and I've yet to see or experience anything that either affected gameplay or the look and fun of the game. This game is brilliant and should be hyped to the max. To be bold, I'd have to say that this IS THE HALO OF MOTOCROSS GAMES! All other MX games are going to have to live up to this one.
Graphics and tricks slightly dated now..... but the fun never will be

Summary: I love Motocross, FMX, etc, etc... I have done all my life! This is THE best MX game ever made to date!... Period! It features all the BIG names back in 2004 like Pastrana, Nate Adam, Carey Hart, Cowboy Kenny, Jamie Dodd, Jermey McGrath and others. I cant begin to explain how well the physics of the bikes feel, they are spot on! The trick system is very well designed and takes a while to master... just like any real trick!
