Summary: The reason I give it a 9 is because so far, it's still the best. Yes Madden 08-11 have the best graphics and developing more realism. But because like NCAA 2005, the franchise mode was perfected, but only during the 2005 series. For instance, they had voice commentary and awesome newspaper articles. Every week you could see how your team did...If your key player did the best he would probably be on the cover of the newspaper.
Summary: I've been afraid of buying a football game for the Xbox because I didn't want to go too deep into a franchise mode or press 15 buttons to throw a pass or whatever. This game is total fun. Controls are easy to master, players look great, and game mechanics easy to learn. Just playing the game is fun. I totally recommend it!
Pros: Franchise simulation, create 32 original teams and start 'original franchise', edit current players to update rosters and real-life transactions
Cons: difficulty settings and slider bars are out of whack-i shouldn't be forced to spend two months perfecting dif. level and slider bars after i just gave $55 for it; get rid of Tony Bruno show and cards
Summary: Madden NFL 2005 is a quite good game. Everyone else and the kitchen sink has gone over the various improvements, so I will not list them. The graphics are great, but can be a bit... iffy at times. Franchise Mode is where many of the improvements have been made, and yours truly have already taken the Bengals to three Super Bowls... unfortunately, I have only won one of them. ***REVIEW HALFTIME*** About my Bengals...
Summary: Madden games are always the best sports games. My roommates and I used to have tournaments all the time because it's just so much fun. Madden 2005 adds to the series in a very cool way. First off, I know you could do it before, but the live feature here is very well done. Being able to take your playing on line is very entertaining, and the xbox does it better than the PS2 anyday, despite charging for the service.
