Summary: the reason i played this game over 2005 is because it is the last game which has the great triad of 49ers, Garcia, Owens and hearst! Can i just say one thing, many of the reviewers of this game slate the defending controls of this game. Well, yes it is true defending in this game is a case of button bashing but, hey if you don't like it just select the defencive play and sit back and watch the computer defend for you. It is that simple.
Summary: Forget your Sega and Acclaim American footy games, the true king of the genre is back with a vengeance. Where do I start with trying to describe what the game has in it? New Franchise mode, make your own team, create your own players, uniforms, even be the owner, charge various amounts to get in, and so much more. I forget everything that is in it, but the main things are the presentation (which is amazingly real) and the great graphics. This game has everything.
Summary: Just when you thought Madden 2004 had the world cornered in the franchise mode, they raise the bar once again. New this year is the owner mode which adds a completely new dimension to the game. As the owner, you can set prices for tickets, parking, concessions, and football related products (hats, shirts, and the like). To help boost interest in your team, you can spend advertising dollars on the radio and television, or in print or on billboards.
Summary: Ok, first things first. It's really a very good game. You can pick it up and be playing almost straight away(although I recommend you read the controls first, it helps!) And although it is quite hard at first, I am managing on the initial difficulty setting with not too much trouble(mostly). I've had it for a week now, and I love it. If only there was an association football game like this on X-Box. But thats another story. But it's not without its problems. Or problem.
Summary: Impressive game - my first NFL game purchase but have played Madden 2003 and others before. Graphics are generally excellent with only the occassional dodgy moment (the ump calls on fumble challenges are pretty ropey!)and the overall presentation is top-notch. Agree with other reviewer about the replay screen being too small though. Some excellent tutorials in 101 section for offense.
Summary: This is Excellent - by far and away the best of the Madden series. Not only are the graphics improved (as ever) but the game play is much better and the opponents AI is sharper - meaning that you can't just run the same play time after time - some thought has to be put into the play calling.
