Conclusion: EA Overall, Madden NFL 07 on the Xbox is a great game of football that I highly recommend. It packs enough improvements to actually be worth the investment this year, unlike the mostly lackluster Madden 06, and stands as easily the best game of football you’ll find on the Xbox. If you have a choice between the Xbox or 360 version of Madden NFL 07, however, I would recommend the 360 version. Once you have seen and played the 360 version it is hard to go back to the Xbox.
Excerpt: Madden has been the king of the video game football for quite some time now. There may have been some contenders in the past, but no one comes close to EA Sports now. Electronic Arts doesn’t sit on their laurels though, they spend each new year to improve the game. Madden NFL 07 the key feature was the running game. Spectacular running back Shaun Alexander of the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks showcases this years box art.
Excerpt: Another year goes by and another release of Madden for consoles around the world. Each year EA tries to add enough to the title to entice people back for another match, this year is no exception with the requisite tweaks to call it an evolution to the title. But let's take a look at how it measures out.
Excerpt: The Madden football game series has become so entrenched in the lives of gamers. Even those that hate sports games can instantly tell you that Madden 05 or 06 or whatever version is current is one of the most popular video games out there. Sure, some might go into a nerd rage when you mention it and talk about how sports games are the bane of whatever Japanese RPG is popular at the time, but the popularity of these sports games is undeniable.
Excerpt: Another day, another down. Yet another reason video game football is better than the real thing: In reality, Terrell Owens isn’t playing for the Cowboys, he’s just playing them. Today in an online game of Madden NFL 07 , though, he caught three beautiful touchdown passes from Bledsoe, making my opponent look like a punk instead of acting like one himself. I rest my case, and move to open one for Madden NFL 07 .
Pros: More content, Good gameplay, Lead blocking is cool, Superstar mode is not, Still missing content from current-gen versions, Sloppy and glitchy
Excerpt: As we near the end of the life span of the last generation of consoles, key franchises that have appeared year after year begin to wrap up their yearly development cycle. Crazy as it may sound, Madden NFL 07 could be one of the last times we see Madden on the Xbox, PlayStation 2, or the GameCube. With that in mind, it's not altogether surprising that Madden 07 doesn't really push the envelope terribly far.
Pros: Highlight stick and lead blocker controls are useful gameplay additions, The superstar mode is actually reasonably compelling this year, Rookie scouting in franchise is a nice touch
Cons: No major, game-changing upgrades to the package, Graphics and audio are practically untouched from last year, Superstar mode still has a number of holdover issues
Conclusion: Que dire ?
