Summary: Madden has always been the best game on the market. This year, it was the only game because EA bought out the rights to the NFL, stopping ESPN NFL 2k6 from being released. They obviuosly weren't worried about other games being better because this game was terrible. The graphics in this game are pretty good. I have seen better and expected better from a game that's had the best graphics each year. The crowd is pretty fake, though the player motions are fairly good.
Summary: This game has some of the worst AI I've seen yet. One drive you can throw for 100 yards, the next drive, every pass you throw is almost picked off. The way the AI works is so predictable and frustrating, that it makes this game worth nothing. This isn't anything new either. However, instead of cleaning up the AI or starting over to improve the game, they go ahead and buy out the NFL to make a monopoly.
Summary: First of all, let me clear this up: there IS a bug or glitch with Madden 2006 for Xbox which will make your game freeze up on occasion. Besides being infuriating, it is indicative of how rushed this game feels. There is nothing you can do to fix it, but feel free to do a google search on the problem and you will see what I mean.

Summary: Do you have Madden 2005? If yes then do not buy this game. Own Madden 2004? Yes? Do not buy this game. EA actually takes a step backward with this addition of Madden as far as authenticity goes. QB vision and superstar mode, the 2 big additions to this year's version are not significant enough to warrant another $50. They will just bog down your system & make loading times, always a weak point in EA's titles, even longer. Stick with Madden 2005 or 2004 if you have them.
Summary: I know that I may be a little biased from playing Visual Concepts' 2K version for several years, but when it came to playing a football game or not, I had to pick up Madden. I was never a favorite of Madden, and I still am not. I will be looking forward to the year that EA's contract runs out with the NFL and hopefully the 2K series can come back. Madden's main weakness is in its commentary.
