Conclusion: Overall this is a fun game that should provide moderate to hard care IndyCar fans a lot of track time. Codemaster was hoping to pull off a serious racing simulation here, but it feels like they feel a bit short in the depth of the game. The game is fast and it will certainly put your skills to the test due to the nature of IndyCar racing.
Conclusion: If the racing felt like you were doing a little more than just putting pedal to the metal and tapping the direction to turn in to the banked corners, then IndyCar Series 2005 would be a must-have racing title. Sadly though it falls short in a few areas, and fans of racing games will almost certainly find that ToCA Race Driver 2 is a more fulfilling title.
Excerpt: It takes a special kind of person to be an IndyCar fan. Formula One, in my opinion, is dull. IndyCar is essentially Formula One without any hairpins, chicanes or right-hand turns. Ok, so there isn’t the predictability of the F1 season and the cars sure do zip along at a faster rate for a longer amount of time, but essentially, the sport involves driving a car around an ellipse as quickly as you can.
Excerpt: Finally there is a game for all of those fans who love to race cars in a circle, watch tire damage, and endure 50 laps of a remedial race course, and if you can imagine it's not even NASCAR. It's IndyCar Series 2005. And it's here to um, well, bore. The level of realism in this car game will most likely turn off most gamers and appeal to only a rare niche of the gaming market.
