House of the Dead 3 Reader Review - 7.6

madperznskilz, IGN Entertainment
22 July 2005
  • Conclusion: I have to say that House of the Dead 3 is one of the most addicting games that i have ever played. However, if you do not buy the Mad Blast gun with it, that is made by MadCatz, there is no point in buying this game. The reason for this is because the game is set at a very fast pace making it already hard enough to shoot the dead men with the analog stick, on the first level. As you progress through the levels, it becomes near impossible to play without the gun.

Aim for the Head: House of the Dead III

Mike_Bracken, epinions.com
2 September 2003
  • Summary: A lot of fun, and very pretty, but the length keeps it just short of the 5 star rating.
  • Pros: Shooting zombies is cathartic.
  • Cons: It's really short.

The arcade breaks through into modern console glory, and doesn't disappoint!

Samuel Peers "Sam", amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: I always enjoyed the arcade game, and eventually found myself buying a dreamcast console in order to play House Of The Dead 2- and now the greatest arcade game ever has arrived at the welcome gates of Xbox, how does it stack up? Well, it is a lot of fun, without any doubt. With additional options, like the blood colour, you can adjust certain elements of the game, which make it even better.

House of the dead 3 is great fun, especially if picked up cheap !

  • Excerpt: I had waited a long time for this game both in the arcades and the xbox version as I am a huge fan of the other games in this series. As I have owned this game on xbox since launch I think its possible to stand back and judge it ! Story House of the dead 1 had a simple storyline, HOTD2 had a shockingly rubbish one, HOTD3 represents the first attempt to put together a proper storyline, this is an improvement over previous games but not really that important !

Lost its touch?

"gamegiest", amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: I must say I love the series & zombie killing'n all but it just isn't the same I mean what happened to the good old weapon select eh? and the unlockable house of the dead 2 I love on Dreamcast but on xbox it has the worst graphics and glitches that after staring at the good effects on HOTD 3 you just don't feel like playing this horrible mess. you can't even see the crosshair on no 2. overall It's a good game but too dear if you get me.
