Summary: I still enjoy playing old Xbox games and this one has me gripped. OK, the guys running around with what looks like a Christmas turkey on their heads looks laughable but the action and storyline has me playing this every chance I get.
Summary: Basicly the next step in Half Life game you'll be overwhelmed by the powerful graphic's on it that Value has worked so hard to try and do over the years. As the story unfolds you meet a lot of new people and oldies that you met in the other games of Half Life. The story continues after Freeman escapes the hole thing in Half Life and send on a wild train with The G-man to try to stop things like he did in the other games.
Summary: Back in 1998, Half Life was released and led the way for first person shooters of the 21st Century. Over the years this game was ported to consoles and now Half-life 2 has made it's way to the XBox and it's pretty good. The game begins in City 17. This is a city in which earthlings live under the stern rule of aliens. Gordon Freeman wakes up a subway train to the voice of Gman.
Summary: An absolutely brilliant game. We played this on easy as we are not great computer game players and it was great. Not just a shoot 'em up, but a game that makes you think a little as well. Go through the levels killing the bad guys and machines and working out how to open force fields or walk over broken down bridges.
Summary: When I first got into the Half Life series, I did do it in a rather a bizarre order. You see I've never played Half Life, but the sequel generated so much hype I found myself inevitably drawn to it. Although this did put me in somewhat of an awkward position, as I had no idea what was going on, a quick bit of wikipedia research brought up me to speed and I was finally able to fully enjoy what is probably one of the greatest gaming achievements of the decade.
Pros: The gravity gun, Gordon Freeman, and the G-man...when he decides to turn up
Summary: Gordon Freeman has got a lot of problems. He's just struggled through the Black Mesa incident - the scientific experiment he was involved in that went terribly wrong and ripped a hole into an alien world, leading to a battle between an alien force and a militant organisation, with Freeman caught in the crossfire. Of course, he survived that. He had you to help him, after all. But the whole adventure ended on a bad note for him. He was placed in stasis, frozen in time.
Pros: Great design, never fails to be boring, satisfying gameplay
Cons: People walk away from you when they're talking!
Summary: OK, first things first, if you have an Xbox 360, get The Orange Box, or if you have a powerful enough PC, get the PC version, they're better and offer more. THAT BEING SAID... When you consider the system it's running on, this is an amazing achievement. Sure, the frame rate can drop, and it looks worse than the other versions I mentioned, but it still looks very nice, and plays incredibly well.
