Summary: If you are looking for an impossibly hard game then here it is. I have had this game for over 2 years and one of my friends has had it for over 4 years and neither of us have got passed mission 5. If you want this game for gods sake get it on the PC it is a lot easier and the controls are nowhere near as complicated.
Excerpt: "Gun metal came, along with two other games, with my Xbox and so the desire to buy the game was not there. As i did not buy the game i dont know exactly how much it costs but i think that it is some where around the £30.00 mark This game was the third game that i played and this was only for a short period. The opposition from both the skies and ground can be more than challenging against a one-man-force! However the game can be played statistically ...
Pros: Its a good game with varied fighting techniques
Excerpt: "This was the 3rd game I bought for my Xbox, and whilst I have seen it through to the end, I have no desire to play it again. I like a good shoot em up, and whilst this game has big bangs galore it really is a one trick pony. By this I mean that the ability to switch between a robot and a jet is the only feature of the game that differentiates it from others in this genre. In fact, I soon realised that the key to each mission is choosing when ...
Pros: Good graphics and its just like Transformers !
Summary: Starting with the first level, you believe you are there to learn how to play, move and shoot....don't be fooled. Within minutes you will be running, flying and shooting the hell out of all those evil enemy. Only on about level 14, but can not wait to get back home and try the next one.
Summary: Perhaps I'm getting too old for this stuff but I found the controls tricky to master and the (un-adjustable) difficulty set too high. Maybe I'm judging the control system too harshly having only played 3 or 4 hours, although Halo's weird set up became second nature in half that time. Gun Metals graphics aren't upto Halos standards either. Despite the simple graphics the game does slow down really badly, 3 to 4 frames per second even in the early missions.
Summary: If you dont own this game, buy it NOW!!!!!!, its brilliant, As other reveiws have said the game is bassed around you being a transformer, which you can either be a giant robot, or a fighter JET!!. Control wise are very good and easy to get to grips with. I read a reveiw on this here and someone mentioned slowdown....WHERE? im through to around level 15-16, and i havent seen any!. Levels get veiw intense and lots happing, You can even put ur soundtracks to the game.
Summary: This is a fun, enoyable game. I loved playing it enough to play it to the end (a rare event these days) and would recommend it to anyone who likes action packed mech shoot em ups. So saying that, why only 3? Two reasons for the average score. First: graphics slow down. For a console as supposedly powerful as Xbox slow down should be unforgivable - this game suffers quite badly from it in places. Secondly: length.
Summary: The story so far... There's a story? Who cares!? At heart, Gun Metal is without a doubt one of the best, most enjoyable shoot 'em ups in recent years. Switch from Giant Robot to Jet fighter at the flick of a switch! Strafe from the air, or rocket from the ground! Choose between speed and manoueverability or strength and armour! As you might be able to tell, I was giggling like a schoolgirl playing this. It's addictive, fast, furious, and fun from start to finish.
Summary: I spent 2 hours in my local console cafe playing Gun Metal and I have to say it was great fun. You are basically a transformer and can convert between a ground-based robot to a jet fighter using the y button. It was very addictive and quite tricky to get the hang of but well worth the effort. I managed to get to level 4 before the café closed and I was thrown out.
Summary: I started playing this game in my local console cafe and it was very addictive. During the 3 hours I played it until the cafe closed and I got chucked out I managed to get to level 4 or 5. You are basically a transformer and using the y button you can switch between a ground based robot and a jet fighter. There are a variety of weapons available for each incarnation of the transformer from rockets and Torpedoes to flack guns and machine pistols.
