NBA Live 06 Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: I had a lot of fun playing the dunk contest in NBA Live 2005 , but I couldn’t really get deep into the actual games. This is not so in NBA Live 06 . I’m thoroughly enjoying the actual season games this time around and I have to attribute most of this love to the Freestyle Superstar system. The graphical upgrade is also a surprising inclusion in NBA Live 06 , but one that also changes how I view the genre.

FlatOut 2 Review

IGN Entertainment
9 February 2008
  • Conclusion: There’s no doubt that the Burnout series was used for inspiration, and that’s pretty ok with me. The actual racing is not quite up to the level it should be in the year 2006, but the Stunt area is binary crack. I would be more interested in an Xbox 360 Live Arcade version of the Stunt arena than this complete, last-gen offering, but it’s still pretty sweet as it sits.

FlatOut 2

Operation Sports
1 September 2006
  • Excerpt: One of the companies that use to make board games (it might have been Parker-Brothers) use to claim that their games were fun for people from 8-80. I even remember some that said for ages 4 to 104. Being a “little shaver” at the time, I couldn’t fathom the concept of playing “Battleship” or “Don’t Tip The Waiter” with old people. You know, like, 35 year olds. Yikes!

  • Summary: Wolf takes to the tracks and gives Flatout 2 a thorough spin behind the wheel; will the game take the curves with style or come out of it as a blazing wreck?

  • Summary: FlatOut 2 does an excellent job of expanding what was so good in the original, the content has virtually doubled in all areas and it's testament to Empire and the developer Bugbear Entertainment that they've tried to include as much as possible to make it a worthy investment rather than a slightly altered sequel.

FlatOut 2

The Gamers Temple
15 September 2005
  • Excerpt: If you’re at all familiar with the first FlatOut game, then you’ll know that its big selling point was the driver ragdoll feature. An accident in a race could send your driver through the windshield and bouncing down the track in slow motion pandemonium. The problem was that the game was so proud of this feature that it used it at every possible opportunity – it was impossible to even parallel park your car without sending your driver through the windshield.

FlatOut 2 Review (Xbox)

About.com
9 June 2005
  • Conclusion: Vivendi Overall, FlatOut 2 is an improvement over the first game in many ways but fails to deliver in the most important area of all, gameplay. You can have all of the features and modes and graphical polish in the world, but if the gameplay is only average no one will want to play it.

  • Excerpt: When I first picked up FlatOut 2 and played it, I was somewhat reminded of an old game I used to play at the arcade. Cruisn' USA came out at the arcades, back in 1994. Though not the best conversion, Cruisn' USA was ported to the Nintendo 64 two years later. Since then, the console games have come a long way and the arcades are all but a dead industry. The multi-player and online gameplay have attempted to make up for what the arcades had. Now - on to the game at hand.
