Conclusion: I have been a huge fan of the EA Sports series of boxing games since Knockout Kings 2000 on the PS1 and I have watched it evolve with sheer delight into the magnificent series that is Fight Night. When I first heard about the development of Fight Night Round 3 I could barely contain my excitement, however, my spirits were severely dampened when it appeared that it would be a 360/PS2 only release.
Summary: Great boxing game and probably the best on Xbox. Very cheap and delivery was on time and packaged well. Many game modes and mini fun games when training your boxer. Graphics 4/5 Gameplay 5/5 Features (characters, game modes) 4/5 Fun 4/5 Realism 4/5 However, the downsides is that the game does not have some major boxers such as Mike Tyson and the game crashes now and then which requires you to restart the console and lose any unsaved progress. Definitely would recommend.
Summary: Fight Night 3 is the first boxing game I've ever bought. The first time I played it i went straight onto the Career mode. I thoght 'Wow this is great!' but the career mode is very, very repetitive, you start of as an ameteur boxer and make your way to be the next champion. It's the same after every fight - Sing contract, Train and then fight. Althogh the career mode lacks, the overall game play is really good - loads of different types of hits (including illeagal blows!
Summary: I think this is a fantastic game. I've never played any kind of boxing sim before but thought this was brilliant. Rather than hectic button bashing and looking at stat bars etc. you have to fight tactically and pay attention to how your character looks and plays to gather how tired or damaged they are. Xbox version graphics are far from poor but not amazing. I think this is due to the 360 version: the graphics are film like at some points. No joke.
Summary: ... It's never been possible before either. I love boxing, and I love good boxing games. This is a good boxing game. It's not great, and the inclusion of the online multiplayer means EA has seriously neglected the single player mode, so if you don't have Xbox Live don't update your Fight Night round 2 to this, you'll be dissapointed. If you do have Xbox Live, then come on into the ring, get this game and get online.
Summary: What an utter disappointment. After the improved but still slightly flawed fight night round 2, I was expecting bigger and better things with the 3rd installment of EA fight night. How they failed to deliver. EA have taken a backward step with round 3, making the game play more sluggish, more irritating and worse graphics than the first 2 versions. How they came up with the design for this I’ll never know.
