Excerpt: "...soccer series (PES). However this FIFA 2005 was very good, especially with the new Career mode, which could almost match Pro Evolution master league. The biggest advantage that FIFA 05 has over Pro Evolution 4, is that FIFA has all the licences for all the most famous players, leagues, and clubs, whereas in Pro Evolution 4, they do not have all the licenses for all clubs, leagues and players. The game play of FIFA 05 is much better than it has ...
Summary: I bought my copy of Fifa 2005 only yesterday as I hadn't owned a football game since Pro Evo 2. I can only echo the reviews of other disappointed buyers. The gameplay is predictable, the movement of players is jerky and when you score a goal it looks very unnatural. And I didn't think the graphics looked great either. I've just been out and bought Pro Evolution 4. Looks like Fifa 2005 will be going to the bottom of my games pile!
Summary: This game is useless in my opinion. Graphics are ok, but that is it. Playing against your friend is bearable, but doing the one player is rubbish. I am currently Boston and every team I play they have about 60% possession, attack me, I tackle them I then run down the middle (as there is noone to pass to), and then pass the ball to my attacker and then 'try' to score.
Summary: I've never written anything like this in my life for any game whether i loved it or hated it, but feel compelled to let people know just how bad FIFA 2005 is before they spend their hard earned cash. I was given Pro Evolution Soccer 4 as a Christmas Present and although i liked it found it very difficult to get to grips with, so after a week of frustration and being hammered in every online match i played in, traded it in for FIFA....BIG MISTAKE !!!.
Summary: Fifa 2005 is practically the same as fifa 2004 but you can now chose which direction the ball goes when you recive a pass. Well thats jsut great but its not worth fourty quid. Fifa has the same problems: easy to score no create a team function crappy commantary bad garphics bad stadiums when you win something you dont see the tropy which is the most anyoiong thing if you get prmted they still have the divison badge on thier shirt for the pople who get fifa because of the...
Summary: Looks great, plays just awful. You'll score the same goal every time, scoring and taking on defenders is difficult unless you play on the easy settings. Team mates are dumb as bricks and your midfielders and defenders drop so deep that even with your tactics set to all out attack it will only be your strikers who get within range of goal - where are the fullbacks to cross balls in from the wings or the attacking midfield players that make late runs into the box?
Summary: What a rip-off. First Touch? So what? I love soccer and love sports games especially EA games but why oh why can EA not see that it takes gameplay not graphics to be competitive. It looks amazing, plays poorly. That's it. I thought they had turned a corner with FIFA 2003, but since then it's been downhill once more. It was a good gaming experience.
Summary: I have to agree totally with "A gamer from Uk". I also cut my console footie teeth on the EA series, and after having such a blast with '03, I had no problems with buying '04. Oh dear, what had I done? '04 was a step back in time to the likes of International Soccer on the C64 with respect to gameplay. 04 is slow and unresponsive. All the action seems to be entrenched in midfield. Running past players is impossible, and forget about trying to go round players.
