FIFA 06 (XBox): Reasonable football game, good purchase
13 August 2011
Summary: Ea finally improved upon the graphics with this game, with player faces and stadiums now at least somewhat resembling their real life counterparts. Although the range of faces included is much improved upon the previous Fifa versions, it still leaves a lot to be desired when even the major teams don't have the faces of all of their first team players.
Pros: Improved graphics and gameplay
Cons: Player faces not expansive enough and game glitches still exist
Summary: It is really worth spending £1 on this just so you can feel what its like to own a playstation. Awful game. Wheres the training section? This strange game decides you don't need one and lets you play from the start. The only players recognisable from the mutants in the game are the players who already look like monsters. Rooney for example. Really quite an odd game but for a pound its worth it just to laugh at.
Excerpt: "fifa 06, my favourate sport in a TV -wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! well to start with i just go to mention that i really love football, i really think fifa 07 is good but i found fifa 06 much better to play simply because its not too realistic. when i play fifa 06 i enjoy it so much, i find it hard to leave my x-box. fifa 06 is a magnificent game and whet makes i evan better is the fact that its on x-box.the graphics on this game are also good easpecially ...
Summary: Someone told me that this was better than the mighty Pro Evolution Soccer. Wow! I thought, I have to give this a go. Well they were wrong. Poor graphics, poor gameplay, poor design, players that look nothing like their real lfe counterparts, poor AI .... I could go on forever listing the flaws this game has. Having spent many years playing various football games I have come to the following conclusion; This is the worst football game I have ever played.
Summary: This is a game that is fun to play for half an hour round a mates house, but that is as far as it goes. The dribbling skills look nice, and the first touch is a good feature. Ok, now lets get to the meat of it: PROBLEMS WITH THIS GAME: 1. The game play soon becomes repetative, with creative options that add up to pass up flank and cross, or through ball up middle.
Excerpt: "...I also recently bought Fifa 2006 (for a tenner! woohoo!), and boy am I chuffed that I did! It was very easy to start playing this game. You choose your favourite team from the 500+ teams on offer and then are challenged to a game against a "Classic XI" team which is great fun. The controls are simple to pick up and it's nice to have the "through ball" option. You can of course change the controls from the in-game menus. There are so many extras ...
Pros: Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Music . . . its BRILLIANT !
Summary: What a trumendous acheivement. How can one possibly vote this game any less than 5 STARS, in a nutshell it is an epic football game with everything you want. I used to play pro evo 4 on PS2 and when i got to 6 star diffculty level i was addicted that it cost me three PS2 controllers (£60), the actual game (£30 approx) and consequently my PS2 (£££) as i threw my anger at the console and its equipment when i got frustrated with the game.
Summary: This game is no match for pro evo 5, the gamepay is poor, the graphics are not great either. The good thing about this game is the presentation of the game, the menu which includes classic moments (goals), retro fifa games and interviews with samuel eto'o etc.
Summary: Fifa 06 is the ultimate football game. It not only better than pro evolution soccer it better than all the previous fifa games. The player likenesses are superb plus the gameplay is excellent. The best features include player creation and edit plus the ability to save replays of great goals or saves. The substitutions are better you can watch the players coming on and off. Manager mode is much more detailed.
Excerpt: "If you are a regular fifa fan then expect the usual. A tweaked version of the game with annoying bugs removed plus a few special features. This is exactly what you get. The graphics and sound are better (great instant replays) you can score some beautiful goals and the skills are incredibly silky. Free kicks and corners have changed and reverted back to a style more reminiscent of Fifa 97, 98, 99 with a hint of the Pro Evo Style. Is it worth the £40 ...
