  • Conclusion: this game has very good parts in which only you the player have control over..like the start of the game is my best do you..A) sit back at your table and pay your bill..or B) panic and run out the fire escape door..the many choices/paths you pick is unltd..only you the player can change this nobody else can..but the random button pushing does get repetative after a while.

Fahrenheit

  • Conclusion: While the story of the game was for the most part good, the Parappa the Rapper style controls during the action sequences became tiring after a short while. I would have preferred some decent fighting action rather than the repeated button copying you have to do. You simply copy the direction shown on the screen during action sequences, which makes this less of a video game, and more like one of those Bop-It things that 8 year-olds use.

  • Conclusion: Quite an enjoyable game. Not too many dull dialogue scenes but the control system was less than perfect and it crashed on a couple of occasions.

FAHRENHEIT - NOT QUITE 9/11THS GOOD

  • Excerpt: "...order. In a gaming context Fahrenheit appears somewhat left-field, and ultimately is how it secured a place in my games collection. TONY HART'S WALL OF (A-LEVEL) ART Admittedly, the cover art is reminiscent of an A-Level art project on serial killers, featuring a faceless figure holding a bloodied knife surrounded by 'powerful' nouns (scrawled in claret), all alluding to something particularly unpleasant lurking within. However dubious this ...
  • Pros: Unique and Refreshing, Sporadically Excellent

  • Excerpt: "...to push the boundaries - Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in the USA). Fahrenheit is less of a game, more of a gentle reminder of how adventure games used to be (think Beneath A Steel Sky, Grim Fandango and the like) mixed with a few new elements. It's been dubbed a "player-directed movie" by some - in truth it's more like the aforementioned games titled mixed with WarioWare style sections, adding a dash of Daley Thompson's Decathlon style ...
  • Pros: Innovative, great soundtrack, superb voice acting
  • Cons: Short lifespan, bad lip synching, ropey graphics

Good game - but you still may not like it

  • Summary: I have no arguments with most of the positive reviews here. This is undoubtedly a worthy and interesting new take on the adventure game genre. Anyone who plays it will recognise this as a 'significant' game. But I want to introduce a note of caution: this game is not for everyone. There is a very good chance that long before the end you will give up through boredom or frustration. It's that sort of game.

The Matrix has you!
