Excerpt: As a kid I loved playing F1 on my Playstation - it was a game that would have me sitting up into the wee small hours - had great graphics and gameplay that outstripped anything I had ever played before and when I stumbled across F1 2002 on Ebay for £12.99 I immediately decided to bring back those happy memories and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest by my purchase - it may be old - but this game has a timeless quality thanks to the graphics - sound effects and...
Pros: Awesome gameplay - superb graphics - realistic sound effects - wide range of game options
Summary: Having got extremely bored waiting for absolutly anyone to felease a new F1 game on the xbox, I decided to buy this quite dated game, as it is pretty much the only one. I wasnt expecting much out of the game but I was very surprised when I started playing it. The car seems very jerky when you first play, but after a few laps you get used to it.
Excerpt: I bought this new in 2002, so now it is quite old. Even so I still play it occasionally as racing at such high speed is always fun. The only thing I usually play on it is a full grid race on my own or with someone else. With umpteen cars on the track at the same time, it makes the experience much more fun, although if you want to play it with more than It can be very difficult to get gold on the challenge mode, and i find it too frustrating to play, but there are plenty...
Pros: fast and exciting, lots of options, oppurtunity to race on full grid
Cons: Challenges can be V . frustrating, connot do a full grid race with more than three players
Excerpt: =========== Introduction ================= “Your heartbeat is the only sound as you wait for the green lights to appear through the heat haze. Track experience, built up during gruelling challenges and practice laps, is now critical to success” So what am I talking about – isn’t it obvious? Of course it’s F1 2002 which boasts all the drivers, tracks and teams from the official FIA 2002 Formula One World Championship.
Pros: Lots of options and good fun to play
Cons: Can't add your own soundtrack and poor graphics
Excerpt: In the same way there are household products we know and tend to trust, there are software houses that hold a similar reputation for high standards. 'EA Sports' is a prime example and though I may not like every game they have made, I do know that the games they make are synonymous with good engineering playability and visual effects. F1 2002 is really no exception.
Summary: For a first F1 game on a new console, F1 2002 has a lot to be admired - but has it's problems too. A real plus for the game is it has the current championship season cars, tracks and drivers - the first F1 game to achieve this. After this, the first thing of note is the menu system, which is very slick, and easy to use - as we have come to expect from E.A. Sports titles over the years.
Summary: Well, the EA Sports licence lives on, and the first platform to get the 2002 treatment is the XBox. As I have played 2000 and 2001 on the PC and 2001 on the PS2 I can firmly say: This is a step backwards. Everyone knows about F1 games in general, so let's get right down to the nitty-gritty: There is a series of GT3 style challenges you have to complete before you can use all the options it the game: This is either good or bad depending on your own opinion.
Summary: If you are a die hard f1 fan then this game might not be for you! However if you are a casual gamer and you want some high speed racing then this is a must buy. It has some good features like domination where you have to win every race in the season and team-duel where you have to beat your team mate. It also has your full/custom championship modes as well. It also has all the latest drivers and teams like Toyota and Renault. The graphics are pretty good.
Summary: Firstly I'd like to say that if you're not into racing games or F1 then I'm not sure if you'll agree with this review. Being one of the first games I've bought without reading a review (I only saw some screen shots which looked v. good), I wasn't sure what to expect. I stuck it in the machine and BOOM! I was blown away. The graphics are fantastic, though like most games there is the odd thing you think could be a bit better. But most of all it is the realsim.
Summary: Played this last night for an hour or so. I am quite impressed. Graphics are good and the sound ain't bad either. The roll hoop view is brilliant. You see the drivers head moving around when it goes over bumps, around corners etc. Handling seems pretty good. Loads of different modes and challenges and it features the 2002 teams and drivers so it's bang up to date. You can race in Hungary with the new track before the drivers actually do!!
