Conclusion: In the end, I had a good time with Evil Dead: Regeneration . There are certainly problems with the title, but the same gore and humor from the movies is intact for the game, which is key. Fans will love hearing their hero back in action again, and while short lived, will enjoy taking down the deadites as well.
Excerpt: Evil Dead: Regeneration is the latest attempt at making an enjoyable game based on the cult B-movie horror classic staring Bruce Campbell. While the Evil Dead movies have never been applauded for their cinematic brilliance, they were fun entertainment at its best. The games have simply been rubbish, offering very little of the enjoyment that the movies deliver in spades.
Excerpt: I have to tell you that I’m a big fan of the Evil Dead movies. How could you not love the series reluctant hero Ash? Here’s a guy that is just your average Joe, and who holds down a thankless job working at S-Mart (“shop smart, shop S-Mart!”). However, when a weekend at a cabin with friends quickly degenerates into an assault by demonic forces Ash rises to the occasion.
Conclusion: Evil Dead Regeneration is a budget title, and so for the price you unfortunately get what you pay for. With that being said, this game is not that bad of an experience as there are some interesting ideas, like Sam but the overall Evil Dead Regeneration just feels like another missed opportunity. When I play this game I feel like had they been given the right budget to make this game it actually would be a force to reckon with.
Conclusion: Evil Dead Regeneration is the best Evil Dead game to be released to date. For the low price they are asking any Evil Dead fan or action gamer needs to check this out. Ash is back with some Bubba Ho-Tep style. Hail to the king, baby!
