Conclusion: While NBA Street Homecourt may not have as many visual bells and whistles as EA’s own NBA Live series, the game still looks great in its own right. This is largely due to the fact that the game runs at a buttery-smooth 60 frames per second, a first for a next-gen EA sports title. The player models looks stellar, too, and we were surprised to see that you’ll be able to play as WNBA players for the first time.
Conclusion: Is Driver Parallel Lines a Grand Theft Auto clone or a mere wannabe? No, and it is clear that it wasn’t designed with that in mind. Although the core gameplay mechanics may share a great resemblance with GTA , this fourth Driver entry plays much like the original did, and that is fine and dandy with us.
Excerpt: Driver: Parallel Lines review Game Over Online - http://www.game-over.com Following the critical failure of Driv3r in 2004, Reflections set out to bring the series back to its roots. The driving was always praised, but with the third entry, more emphasis was played on outside the car stuff like running down foes and then shooting them.
Excerpt: The good news is that they mostly have - the on-foot shooting, running, and carjacking feature major enhancements. The bad news is that they still need work, and in the cases of carjacking and shooting - a lot of work if Reflections wants this to be the premiere sandbox series.. Carjacking isn’t done badly per se, it’s just clumsy compared to the 3D GTAs.
Conclusion: If you're not Mr. Unlucky then chances are you'll have a great time with the game, but in the end you'll feel like you've played it all before. It just doesn't have that unique style or irreverent humour of GTA. It's a driving game, first and foremost, which has stepped somewhat tentatively into a much larger gaming pool. If you're a Driver or GTA fan, there's definitely some meat on these bones.
Pros: very realistic story scenes, high production values, massive gaming world, varied missions and split storyline, large, funky soundtrack
Cons: copies GTA a little too much, too many timed missions, a game of circumstance, nothing new
