Not many games stick with you like this one.

  • Summary: Generally speaking, I find videogame storylines dull and pointless. The Deus Ex series, however, is a definite exception. The plot is intricate and fascinating, unfolding like a conspiracy thriller, with you as the pivotal character. It is a game about taking sides and choosing enemies, wiht nothing less than the fate of humanity at stake. As I write this, the old Xbox is an obsolete machine.

Deus Ex: Invisible War

  • Summary: This is a great game there are different ways the story can end and its up to you to chose depending on which path you take like whether you prefer to go in guns blazing or take a stealthy approach. The only bad thing i can say about the game is its too short and there isn't enough leveling up to do i think at the end of my game i finished with about 6 of each of the two different upgrade canisters.

Invisible Combat

  • Excerpt: "I felt like picking out the details with this review and picking out the things the much better reviews have missed. The obligatory below-the-bar sequel - another lesson that you shouldn’t keep your hopes high. When I saw the cinematic introduction for this game I thought there would be the same level of sophistication, but as other reviewers have rightly said it has definitely been ‘dumbed down’ to make the target audience as big as possible. ...
  • Pros: Graphics .  Ragdoll physics .
  • Cons: Will just never, ever beat the original .

Great fun, but no triple-A game

  • Excerpt: "...played and completed the first Deus Ex. You are lucky people. For everyone else, you have missed out on a really influential and just damn fun game. A brief rundown of the game is that you play (basically) a secret agent from a first-person view and can use a myriad of methods to achieve your goals. As the game goes on you get sucked further into the plot, more devious ways of getting your objectives become available, you gain more abilities and equipment ...
  • Pros: The story is great; not the usual dumb game plot
  • Cons: This doesn't improve on the first one in almost any way

  • Summary: Finally the sequal to Deus Ex has arrived.. I was a great fan of the Deus Ex 1. I had it on pc and lost it so i got it on PS2. But i am dissapointed that its not on PS2.. But i play it on my x-box instead. Well the game is great. You play Alex Denton in the future and you can choice mulitple people to work for. Such as work for the WTO and fight against the Order ect. The graphics are good and so is the gameplay. However the maps are a bit bare.

Extreamly good

  • Summary: I was a big fan of the first Deus Ex, and this was no dissapointment....well..near the end it was. at the beginning though, this is a brillian game, it balances the hardcore fighting aspects with the sidequest civi aspects...as the game progresses though, all side quests dissapear and you are flung into a constant battle, which sounds not that bad, but if (like me) you liked the first deus ex because of the time to relax and chill with the side quests, this may anoy.

Good, but not the best out there

  • Excerpt: "I never played the original so didn't know what to expect with this game. It took me a while to get used to the control system, particularly with regards picking objects up and climbing ladders etc. The walk through at the start of the game is quite good, getting you immediately involved in the story and straight into the action. One flaw which will become clear quite quickly is the excessive amount of time it takes to load different sectors. ...
  • Pros: Plot options, good storyline, lack of superhero status means you have to take care
  • Cons: Slow screen loading, lack of repurcussions from choices

It continues the 'spirit' of Deus Ex

  • Summary: Alright, I'll admit it, this isn't as good as the prequel, but it is still one of the finest games on the Xbox. In fact, if you ignore the fact it's the sequel of one of the best games ever, Invisible War is a brilliant game. But comparisons will always be made. Graphics Graphically, this game is GOOD. Detailed creatures, mechanical and otherwise, and good faces.

Omar God! A great sequel

Concrete_..., Ciao
25 April 2004
  • Excerpt: "The original Deus Ex attracted hefty plaudits for its contribution to the gaming industry. Released on PC and PS2, it introduced a new and exciting genre to the mass market: the cerebral shooter. Combining a deep and involving storyline with fast paced action sequences, it sold well, and justifiably so. At its conclusion, the plot threads were left tantalisingly open for a sequel. Finally, said sequel has arrived, a console Xbox exclusive. Invisible ...
  • Pros: Fleetingly Brilliant  -  Open Ended  -  Great Story
  • Cons: Not a patch on the original  -  'Dumbed Down'

Deus Ex - Invisible War (Xbox)

Pietburger "pietbok", amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: This is the second instalment and a fairly good one at that. Gameplay is fast paced and intricate, missions involving more than one method of doing things whether it be stealth or full out gun blazing. The story line has to be given a lot of credit, it is amazing and as soon as you start the game, you are sucked into the immersive world with its own politics and internal power struggles. For me though, a big fan of the original, this game was slightly lacking.
