Very nice game

Thebaker50, Dooyoo
3 May 2012
  • Excerpt: Dead or alive is a beat them up game that can be played with up to 4 players (although I do not recommend playing anymore than 2 personally). The game is similar to games like mortal kombat, tekken, and soul calibre, but there are a few differences. THe plot is basically an evil ninja (genra) puts another ninja prince (kayate) into a coma, and he loses his memory.

A sexual predators dream come true!

Stunt101, Ciao
5 June 2007
  • Excerpt: "...are the creators of the Dead Or Alive series. There are three things you can say you get with the DOA fighting games:amazing graphics, big boobed women and a great fighting system. Starting in 1996 on the arcades, DOA has pretty much been the underdog of the 3D fighting game genre, as it takes a sidebench for other figting games like Tekken, Soul Caliber and Virtua Fighter. DOA3 was one of the Xbox launch titles alongside games like Halo, Oddworld:Munches ...
  • Pros: Amazing visuals; great sound; deep counter system; excellent fighting engine; awesome multiplayer .
  • Cons: Slightly overwhelming sexual themes; minor character balancing issues; a little lack of modes

  • Excerpt: "...quite a fan of the dead or alive games. They aren't as complex as virtua fighter, yet still offer a deep fighting system and play very fluidly. DOA3 is no exception to this. The gameplay is much the same as doa2, but reversals have been made slightly easier. Graphically, this is a showpiece for the power of xbox. It really pushes xbox close to it's limits even though it was produced at such an early stage in xbox's lifetime. Gameplay is simple ...

Tekken Beater?

BadOtaku, Ciao
10 July 2005
  • Excerpt: "I've never been very good with beat-em-ups. Tekken 3 was a pain for me, and I have often ended up button mashing. How is this relevant? DoA3 has what I consider to be the most accessible counter system in any beat-em-up that I've played. With some hours put in, you really feel like a master. The combat is nice and varied, with many styles represented. There is a nice balance, and with the intuitive counter system, combat becomes a measure of quick-thinking, ...
  • Pros: Excellently Fluid Combat, Lots of Combat Options, Hidden Extras to Unlock
  • Cons: US Region has Less Hidden Extras as Standard, Unfair Main Boss

Dead or Alive3

Dikmint, Ciao
2 May 2004
  • Excerpt: "...the shelves. Published by Temco, Dead or Alive 3 is a fast paced, addictive game which takes game graphics and animation to yet another level. Although it is 'just' another 'beat em up' it follows similar traits to nearly every fighting game ever made, but with a few nice extras. Within the story each character has their reasons for wanting to win the competition. Some for the grand money prize, others for respect or revenge. The characters come ...
  • Pros: Playability, graphics and tag team mode
  • Cons: another similar beat em up

  • Excerpt: Dead or Alive 3 is a third person, beat em up based game like Tekken. The third person fighting format helps you defeat all of your enemies with moves like Hurricane kicks, Rainbow kicks, dragon blows, dragon elbows and other fighting moves and combos. This game takes skill and certain knowledge of all of your characters and the other characters moves, high points, capabilities and how to use their moves wisely, carefully and as usefully as possible.

  • Excerpt: "my previous experience of games consoles and thier games are quite limited(still playing spectrum emulators...), but having seen good reviews of this game i decided to purchase it for my newly acquired X-box, and have not been dissapointed. the game idea is an old one, many fighters meeting for thier prize, and each having a personal story, well told, in stunning graphics. game play is easy enough for anyone to play, not complicated, but highly ...

Tekken, Virtua fighter, meet your match!!!

  • Summary: This is not good- it is great. The first thing that hits you is the graphics. They are the best graphics, on any console, ever! The fighters look amazing and there is not one hint of slowdown. The backgrounds are superb, they look real, and not one of the levels are bland looking or bare. Next what jumps out at you is the gameplay, it is fast and smooth. The moves are easy to learn and it has that pick up and play appeal, which is always good.
