Summary: After wanting this game for ages I finally bought it and I thought it was great. After a while I found myself getting bored. Unlike Soul Caibur that offers you some cool and different things to try DOA doesn’t offer anything new in the gameplay. The moves are basic, the story is boring and there aren’t many different matches. Its only the graphics and cutscenes that you can unlock that are great. The rest is pretty pants.
Excerpt: When I wrote a review on the Simpson Road Rage, one particularly surprising comment I received described the game as a virtual remake of taxi driver with no improvements. Despite the fact that my critic commended my review, he nevertheless clearly conveyed his distaste for the game. I was perplexed and somewhat incensed! I had never played Taxi Driver and but thought, surely a game should stand on its own merits, why the necessity to draw comparisons.
Excerpt: This is a fantasically thought about game, with many features including; sparring mode, knock out, story mode, and others. The graphics are excellent and the movement is smooth and flawless, The sound is very good, but they haven't translated the voice acting into english and we have to put up with subtitles (what a let down). That's about all I can say for this game as I'm very sceptical about the release of these sorts of games, When are they going to change the style?
Summary: The graphics are very well done both characters and backgrounds and the characters still have the trademark DOA bounce ;) However beyond that it's shallow and in 2 player the constant fighting reversal moves get tired quite very quickly. Finally the Xbox pad is badly designed for this sort of game - the buttons and the dodgy digital direction pad are spongey and dont lend themselves to the twitch reaction speed needed. You'll still have more fun w/ Tekken 2..
Summary: Det är egentligen inget dåligt spel, man har kul när man spelar det, men jag tycker att de kunde gjort så mkt mer. Och plus att denna recension oxå kan ses som kritik mot att de gör ett gubbsjukt beachspel som uppföljare.
