Okay, you're looking at what I just wrote. You're seeing all those fours, and you're thinking, "Why am I only seeing three monkeys leering at me happily?" It's because, in short, DOA 3 isn't really offering us anything new and certainly doesn't do anything to push what our latest and greatest video game system is capable of. True, what it does offer is done pretty well...But it really amounts to a port from the PS2 that is spending a hell of a lot of time resting on its... Read more

Dead or Alive 3 was Tecmo's first game for the Xbox, and it’s quite a good game. The graphics are still some of the best around, and the fighting itself is great. There are a few problems however, which you will read about later in the review. Read more

The DOA series is one of the most controversial fighting games around. Fighting game elitists, in particular, seem to find joy in bashing the series. It has been called everything from a "button masher" to "hentai for the masses". In truth, DOA is as deep as any other fighting game, and excels in areas that others falter. Limbo stuns, open and closed stances, hi counters. Haven't heard of them? Check some FAQs. Where does DOA3 excel? The Tag Team mode is the smoothest... Read more

  4. DEAD OR ALIVE 3 REVIEW (XBOX)

Dead of Alive 3 kicks a large quantity of arse and although it falls victim to strange sound glitches in loading and welcomes those who button bash, to be frank, it is stunning. If you own nothing but an Xbox and like fighting games I strongly recommend DOA3 because fighting games are either dead, or alive, and this ones alive and kicking! Read more

Tecmo's Dead Or Alive series has, unfortunately, always been the Frank Stallone of fighting games. The original was released to a small Japanese audience on the short-lived Sega Saturn, and its subsequent 1998 release on the Playstation played second fiddle to Namcos blockbuster Tekken 3 . Its acclaimed sequel, exclusive to Segas Dreamcast console (also short-lived), was overshadowed by the popularity of Namcos masterful weapons extravaganza Soul Calibur . Now, however,... Read more

Oh my goodness a totally awesome game right here. Ever since that one time I played it at school, when my friend brought his X-BoX, I've been in deep like with this game. I mean it was so awesome. First time I played, I played with Zack. Then when I got the game I got real good with Brad Wong and Christie. There are some good modes. Such as Aracade, Versus, Survival and anything regular for a fighting game. And then there is the tag in which is so fun to play. Not to... Read more

  4. Fantastic graphics, but the game is missing something

This is an arcade style fighting game with 16 playable characters, all with their own unique traits other than appearance. Some fighters are made for speed (Ayane & Jann Lee), others are made for brutality (Bayman), others are meant to throw around the compeition (Tina & Bass) and some are meant to just be unique (Hayabusa & Brad Wong). I am sure that we can all see that the graphics in this game are some of the best of the X-Box and that is saying alot. There are... Read more
