Summary: I guess I fed a lot hungry people with all the critters I shot in this game. Made a boat load of greenbacks to! Beautiful horses to rope and break, plenty of weapons from the period, some I did not know existed. Horseshoes in the morning, poker and falling down drunk by evening. Security guard at the ranch at night.....chasing bandits across the boarder, driving cattle herds, playing bounty hunter and dodging the law. Plenty to do, great graphic and colorful people.
Summary: Engaging western, open world allows you to pretty much do whatever you want between missions. Pretty good multiplayer/system link once you get it running (requires a free update via XBOX Live for slink). Rated M for mature so please don't buy this for your kid then act shocked if he decides to steal a horse and pick up old western-style prostitutes.
Summary: I have really enjoyed this game. The world is large, and you can move through it on foot, horse, stage coach, horse cart, train and ferry. The graphics are a work of art. I can't remember another game in which I rode my horse to the top of a butte just to see the moon rise. The character development and voice acting are first rate, and the game definitely gives you the feel of being immersed in the Old West.

Summary: I really enjoyed "Red Dead," but then one day I just got bored with it. I don't really know why, maybe it's because it just literally seemed like I had done so much of this before, in other games by Rockstar. I really should go back and finish it, but I just can't really bring myself to do it. It's a great game and good fun, but just got a bit too repetitive for me.
Summary: Let me start by saying I had a blast playing this game. You can spend 10+ hours on the single player campaign, and have loads to do afterward from sidequests to fighting gangs. The graphics are great, and the cutscenes are a treat to watch. So let's start with what's great-- What really stands out is the voice acting. This is some of the best voice acting I've ever heard for a game, it's great. Every character was voiced perfectly.
Summary: I waited a long time to finally play RDR. The opening scene sucked me in. I watched and waited for my chance to take control of the character and explore the land. If there is one thing Rockstar games does right, its attention to detail. No other open world / sandbox genre has ever been able to compete with Rockstars attention to the minor details that bring the world around you to life. If your a fan of GTA , I wont go and say you will love this game.

Summary: As an old dude and a fan of Westerns like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) , McCabe & Mrs. Miller and The Wild Bunch - The Original Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition) this is closest I will probably ever get to this time period. Unless somehow I come across one of those hot tub time machines, then I would be so there. This game has an immersive and a giant sandbox for you and your horse to frolic around in.
Summary: First and foremost, this is a very good game and I highly recommend it if you like this game genre. The western theme is very unique given the plethora of sci-fi and fantasy action oriented RPG's. Other reviews have highlighted the strengths, my review is focused on improvements that I would like to see in the next installment of this series: - The character & horse controls are sloppy.
Summary: Red Dead Redemption - Circa 2010 GOOD: - A good story that mixes elements of historical fiction and a frontier drama epic. - Really impressive graphics and first-rate animations, that looks just as good as games like Uncharted 2 on PS3 and Gears of War 2 on 360 and Assassins Creed 2 (on both systems). - Great vistas and sights really drive home the idea and theme of the epic nature of the landscape and the era, the graphics really help bring this game world to life.
