Good value for money - a bit repetitive

Autodidact, Amazon
4 August 2011
  • Summary: I have really enjoyed this game. The world is large, and you can move through it on foot, horse, stage coach, horse cart, train and ferry. The graphics are a work of art. I can't remember another game in which I rode my horse to the top of a butte just to see the moon rise.

authentic "wild west" feel

W. DiStefano, Amazon
7 January 2011
  • Summary: Red Dead Redemption makes you feel like an authentic cowboy. The combination of ambient sounds, music, sound effects, artistic style, graphics quality, story-driven plot, etc. all contribute to making you feel like you are really in the world.

red dead redemption (no spoilers)

Amazon
20 October 2010
  • Summary: The action video game Red Dead Redemption is one of the best games I've ever played. Pros: great graphics, large map (way larger than San Andreas), Diverse amount of guns. Cons: takes a long time to travel (exept when you use fast travel), glitches once in a while.

Move over Clint Eastwood, there is a new top Western in town!

Dredded Deuce, Amazon
19 May 2010
  • Summary: Who would have thought that in the middle of May a AAA title could just drop and disrupt everything else you were doing and playing? Rockstar does it again the same way they did it with GTAIV 2 years ago. Take just about everything you love about GTAIV and set it in the Old West, early 20th century.

The Good, The Bad, & The Reviewed

Michael Corona "Nemesis Legion", Amazon
18 May 2010
  • Summary: Red Dead Redemption - Circa 2010 GOOD: - A good story that mixes elements of historical fiction and a frontier drama epic. - Really impressive graphics and first-rate animations, that looks just as good as games like Uncharted 2 on PS3 and Gears of War 2 on 360 and Assassins Creed 2 (on both...

Great Game, but noticeable flaws

B. Stewart, Amazon
16 July 2005
  • Summary: Let me start by saying I had a blast playing this game. You can spend 10+ hours on the single player campaign, and have loads to do afterward from sidequests to fighting gangs. The graphics are great, and the cutscenes are a treat to watch.

Looks like the West is still wild!

John, Amazon
22 June 2005
  • Summary: I waited a long time to finally play RDR. The opening scene sucked me in. I watched and waited for my chance to take control of the character and explore the land. If there is one thing Rockstar games does right, its attention to detail.

Recommended improvements

VVV, Amazon
22 June 2005
  • Summary: First and foremost, this is a very good game and I highly recommend it if you like this game genre. The western theme is very unique given the plethora of sci-fi and fantasy action oriented RPG's.

Enjoyed It, Until I Got Bored...

J. J. Burtch, Amazon
22 June 2005
  • Summary: I really enjoyed "Red Dead," but then one day I just got bored with it. I don't really know why, maybe it's because it just literally seemed like I had done so much of this before, in other games by Rockstar. I really should go back and finish it, but I just can't really bring myself to do it.
