Crusty Demons Review

IGN Entertainment
9 February 2008
  • Conclusion: Although maybe not pulled off with aplomb, Crusty Demons takes advantage of a developer’s decent gameplay engine and musters up an entertaining extreme experience. Crusty Demons is not what I would call a deep or technically perfect game, but it does utilize entertaining aspects of other slick titles ( Burnout , Flat Out THPS ) to get its point across.

Crusty Demons

The Gamers Temple
9 October 2006
  • Excerpt: I sold my soul because the devil needed me to travel to New York to hold a 30 second ground trick. All part of his plan for Armageddon, I suppose. That’s basically the idea behind Crusty Demons. Your crew of hard living stunt riders dies during an ill-advised stunt attempt (are any stunts really that good of an idea?) and finds themselves in hell. In exchange for the return of their lives and souls they agree to do the devil’s work for a while.

  • Excerpt: It’s called Crusty Demons. That’s really all you need to know about Crusty Demons . I mean, I could go on and explain the gameplay, the fact that it’s a crummy Tony Hawk rip-off featuring cool crashes and absolutely nothing else, but why? Crusty Demons ! So if you’re looking for a technical breakdown of the game’s various features and insight into its particulars, I’m afraid you’re in the wrong place.
  • Pros: Crusty Demons, Killing yourself, Not, Structure lifted from far better games, Terrible level design, Wonky physics

  • Excerpt: Though Crusty Demons doesn't pretend to be anything more than a value priced, freestyle trick-riding and driving game, it does inject a gimmicky Faustian element that makes crashing more fun than riding.

Crusty Demons Review

GameSpot
23 June 2006
  • Summary: As an idea, Crusty Demons isn't so bad. As a game, it's weighed down by frustrating controls and lackluster presentation.
  • Pros: An amusing twist on the standard extreme racing game, Crashing your bike and/or launching your rider into a wall is fun the first few times
  • Cons: Controls are confusing and not very "hand-friendly", Mission difficulty ranges from simplistic to tediously complex, Environments are smaller than you'd like, Wonky physics means you'll crash a lot more than you'd like
