Conclusion: I have to confess I am not a huge Splinter Cell fan. My world is that of the Thief series. I like the settings there, I like those low-tech weapons and above all I like that absolutely free gameplay. When I got Cold War, the last thing I thought about was that its gameplay will be just like that (even after all those ecstatic previews) and ... I was surprised.
Conclusion: I have finished the game and let me assure you that it was quite an enjoyable experience. At the beginning, I was expecting something like Splinter Cell, a shooter which makes you feel that you play a stealth game, even if you really don't. But as soon as I was shot down several times by one of the first guards, I knew this game is different. Simply shooting through is not the easiest way to go in Cold War, at least for me.
Conclusion: I think the official review is a bad joke. Did Mathew Fisher really played the whole game? I dont think so. I dont think Cold War is the best game ever, but it will definitely capture you after some time. The beginning is little bit slow, but it becomes much better after few levels. The thing i liked most in the game was that you can invent and create your own gadgets, thats really cool! I have seen this in the game Arcanum and I loved it there.
Conclusion: Cold War was made in Czech republic so I had the opportunity to read some Czech reviews and all of them are actually very different than this one on TeamXbox. Hope you are not underestimating games from Eastern Europe:)) GameStar magazine - score: 85%. "We could go on and on describing Cold War – however it’s pointless to reveal all fine points and gadgets which await you in the game, not to mention revealing of the well written and thrilling story.
