Maximum Chase Review
11 March 2010
Conclusion: Maximum Chase is just as fun to watch when gaming with friends as it is to play (which is a good thing since it's only a one player game). I sometimes get antsy when it's my friend's turn at the helm and I have to watch him do what I want to be doing. MC allows others to relax and enjoy the sweet graphics and truly stunning replay films. A serious lack of gameplay depth and overall game length keep me from recommending this game to anyone other than a driving game freak.
Excerpt: In their continuing evolution, videogames are facing a predictable conundrum: new genres are arising, blending old concepts with new innovations; but the poor truth is that some of these concepts are too simple or shallow to make interesting, enjoyable games. Such is the case with Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver . Presumably released to compete against Stuntman , Chase is the namesake of (obviously) a Hollywood stunt driver whom you guide through various movie "scenes.
Excerpt: In an effort to give you the Hollywood stunt driving experience, bam! Entertainment has brought to you Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver . The game's levels consist of everything from cityscapes to post-apocalyptic-style outdoor areas. And although the graphics of Chase are consistently nice looking, complete with explosions and destructible objects, the game does suffer from some severe slowdowns that will plague gameplay at certain times.
Excerpt: Everyone remembers Stuntman for PS2, and who couldn’t? The game came out just a little while ago, and while it was a technically amazing game, the frustrating gameplay and long loading caused many to back off on it and as such it didn’t do as well as the developers anticipated. However, it did do well enough for companies to take the original concept, tweak it slightly and call it a different game. Example number one- Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver.
Excerpt: Bam! Entertainment and I-Imagine bring us the first title developed in the Microsoft Incubator program, and the first console game made in Africa. Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver provides really solid gameplay that will have you hard-pressed to put down the controller. It's a great first effort, and we look forward to more. Click here.
Summary: "Graphically Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver isn't a stand out title for the Xbox either, it does have its good points though with great reflections and a very stable framerate," "Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver is a blend of racing and stunt driving, trying to blend the two together into a game is a pretty hard task"
