Conclusion: Burnout 2 has been out for six months on the PS2 and it has finally arrived on the Xbox. In this review, I am going to start of with some negative comments. This is intentional so that I could close on the positive note that "Burnout 2" deserves.
Excerpt: If you haven't heard about the Burnout franchise, where have you been? Burnout 2 is the second in the series, now surpassed by two console games and the PSP handheld version, but it's still worth a look. Firstly, theres only one way of describing Burnout 2.
Pros: Fast, lovely crashes, cheap as chips
Cons: old compared to the newer games in the series
Excerpt: I love this game. Most of the games i get for my play station 2, I keep them a while and then when ive had enough of them i trade them in.For me burnout 2 is a great game and is one that i will keep for good, And i dont mean in the cupboard or on a shelf because this game goes on forever ,You win one...
Excerpt: I'm a big fan of racing games, so Burnout 2 isn't alone on my shelf. But by doing this review, I'll attempt to answer the question my wife asked when I bought the game - "Why do you need another racing game?" Well, it's simple really. All my racing games offer something different.
Excerpt: Burnout 2 is such a good driving game. It improves vastly on the slow, limited original. Whilst the original contained a very small amount of tracks, Burnout 2 is packed with a variety of terrains.
Pros: Smash Smash Smash Vroom What more can you ask out of a driving game?
Summary: Of all the games I have for the Xbox, this is the one that sits in the drive for the longest. It is fantastically addictive, easy to play (although not so easy as to make it boring). The cars are well modelled and great fun to drive.
Excerpt: Well to start its better than the first no doubt about that. The crashes are better, the graphics are better, the cars are better, everything is better. What i like about the game most is the multiplayer part.
Excerpt: Going really really fast and smashing the bejesus out of stuff - possibly the two most enjoyable activities of all time. So you’ll be happy to know Burnout 2 has them both pretty much wrapped up.
Excerpt: I found this game to be very fun and additive. The graphics are incredibly better than the original and the crashes are much more detailed and intense. A new feature is a Tutorial which sadly you have to go through before getting down to the racing.
Pros: Detailed Crashes, Better Graphics, New Crash Junctions, Easier Handling, Best Arcade Racer To Date .
Cons: No Online Gameplay, Not So Helpful Tutorial, Can Be Frustrating .
Summary: I wonder what the newspapers would have said 10 years ago if an arcade game about multi-car pile-ups had been released. Burnout 2 starts you off slowly with six 'Learn to drive badly' courses; your new (or perhaps not so new ;o) skills are soon put to test when the main game modes are unlocked.
