Conclusion: This Has no right to be called a GAME. A rough out line, a work in progress; at best. 12+ Who are they kidding there is no Adult content, nor blood for that matter. The gun points in an approximate direction and the enemy falls down. Sneak attacks are a total JOKE! This "game" was start 15 years ago, shelved. Found on a tidy up last year and publish on April 1st. Good points.
Conclusion: Definitely check it out -- it's a very good action game. I don't think it's Twisted Metal on water, but that's because it's a different game. If you're not good at these things in general, though, make sure you have friends to play the game with, because the campaign can be merciless.
Pros: The graphics are terrific, and the action is fast, yet strategic enough so that it's not plain button mashing. Multiplayer is fun, and the campaign -- after level 7 -- is pretty good. Frame rate is always fast, even in four player mode, which is a huge plus.
Cons: Unbalanced difficulty -- some missions are impossible, even on the easiest setting, while others are quite easy on any setting. The first seven missions are pretty dull, too, which can be pretty deceiving since they get better quickly after mission 7.
Excerpt: "I bought this game about 3 or 4 years ago when the words 'Blood' and 'Wake' sounded pretty good, how naïve I was. This game was largely a big disappointment, and certainly not worth playing. You may ask, why are you righting a review about this game if its 4 years old, and my answer is as follows: with the release of the Xbox 360 old Xbox games will now start to flood places like eBay, and I thought you should be warned. To sum up the game in one ...
Summary: This may sound like a rant, but every single word of it is true. 1. My mate gave this game to me. 2. It was so bad I gave it back. That is how rubbish it is. The camera is twitchy, the characters say annoying things like 'wow look at that wave... cooool'. The gameplay is far too hard from very near the beginning. I thought games were meant to get harder as they go along. Well this one doesn't. At the time I posted this review.
Excerpt: "Blood Wake is a definite twist on the vehicular combat sub-genre and the "Story Mode" makes the game worth playing. To begin, you play the role of Shao Kai, a war vet pirate-type guy set on avenging the death of his ex-comrades. There are two modes by which you can play: Story Mode and Battle Mode. There are 25+ missions in total, which I found to be more than enough to keep a "freshness" to the game. You battle enermies in all-out warfare: racing ...
Summary: It's a fun game so long as you are not looking to usse your brain much. Just go around and shoot anything that moves, and some buildings tooo! The game can get hard at times put there are plenty of cheats on the net that you can use, if you can't find them, just get in touch with me. It really becomes good when you start playing with your mates! The the playablitly of the game is at it's peak! IT'S GREAT FUN!
Summary: Make no mistakes, the concepts behind this game are VERY simple. Pick a boat, choose which guns to put on the boat, shoot other boats. If that description puts you off, don't buy the game - it's a simple as that. If you're still reading however, I'll assume that that didn't put you off TOO much!
