Summary: This game is flat out awesome, and it get's even better once you master all the controls. There are a ton to get used to, but they are set so that once you get the hang of them you can pull off all the cool little jukes and rolls effortlessly. I love the instant u-turn manuver, it's great for evading and retaliating. 1 problem I do have however are the stupid battlestar missions where you get stuck manning the turrets of BSG.
Summary: I was intrigued by the degree of the reviews of this game and being a Galactica fan myself when it first aired, curiosity got the best of me. I give it a big thumbs up. It is true, the skies are literally crawling with Cylons, your fellow pilots are begging for help, your wingmen need managing, your missile system needs tailoring for the current task, all while being shot at and tracked by enemy missiles with the goal of the mission just a hair's breath away from being a...
Summary: This game will frustrate you unless you read the manual. Once you read the manual you will be able to take advantage of 2 crucial things: multi-target homing missiles; and identifying primary objective targets. Without the latter you will get NOWHERE in the game. Pros: - Fans will appreciate the art work that can be unlocked in the game- including Ralph Mc Quarrie paintings. - You get to check-off one of your childhood todos- ie fly a Viper.
Summary: This is quite frankly one of the worst game purchases I've ever made. I'm sure the game designers can play this game -but unless you want to spend endless hours learning the simpliest of features skip this title. The most minimum of user testing should have exposed this title's weaknesses.
Summary: I will start with the simple truth: Battlestar Galactica is an extremely difficult game. If one has the patience, it is also a rewarding game that's a lot of fun to play. The lack of a tutorial makes reading the instruction manual absolutely necessary. Since there are no "free flight" levels, one simply has to learn on the fly. As a bit of advice, read the manual's "targeting" section multiple times. Once you've got this down, the game becomes infinitely easier.
Summary: This game is excellent especially if you were a fan of the original tv series back in 1979/1980. Game engine and graphics are very fluid and the sounds are exact to the series. Sound nice through surround sound. Very fast pace with a lot going on at once. At times overwhelming to say the least. I have two complaints. Game is a prequel to the original tv series (I dont know about you but....im kinda getting tired of prequels) so you cant play as Starbuck or Apollo.
Summary: The game is awesome. Unlike many of the cartoonish space games out there, this one looks and feels like you are in space and flying a viper. What I would have given to have had something similar as a kid. The sound effects are just like on the shows and the graphics are excellent. The Galactica and vipers are as the original series, but as you advance you begin to see cylons ships resembling the newer mini-series that is currently airing.
