Excerpt: One of the biggest hurdles facing sequels in just about any medium (be it film, games, etc.) is maintaining continuity. Few projects are actually planned to spawn a sequel, and hence they tell a complete story in one installment. Trying to add to that story with a follow-up can be a recipe for disaster (as anyone who's seen Halloween II can attest).
Excerpt: In late 2001, Snowblind Studios, under the direction of Black Isle Studios, developed a dungeon crawler for the PS2 (which was later released on the XBox and GC) that caught many by surprise in both how good the game both looked and played. Now, without Snowblind Studios (who is working on the soon-to-be-released Champions of Norrath ), Black Isle Studios created a sequel using the core engine from the first game but giving players more of what they wanted.
Pros: Still looks and sounds great, Five new characters to play with, Great new additions to game, including the workshop
Cons: No major improvements, Why is there no four player co-op?
Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Fans of the original will be more than pleased, and newcomers are in for a treat. It may be categorized as a role-playing game, but it is by far one of the fastest and most entertaining real-time RPGs you will ever play. It will take about 12-15 hours to complete your first time through, and chances are, there may be a second, third, and even fourth play-through... the game is just that good. By yourself or with a friend, you'll have a blast. Don't miss it!
Excerpt: That's it; that's all; you can all go home, or to the store, according to your individual preference. There isn't a hell of a lot else to say.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II is just like the first one, but there's more of it.

Conclusion: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 is a great follow up to the first game, adding loads of depth, all new characters and a rollicking great adventure. Anyone who enjoys hack'n'slash adventure games should pick this game up, as it is a shining jewel in the crown of the genre. The ability to create items and the differences between the playable characters adds loads of depth to what is essentially a linear adventure and co-operative mode adds even more re-playability.
Pros: looks and sounds great, 5 unique characters, item creation is fun, 2 player co-op
Cons: can be repetitive, 2 players max, minor camera issues
