Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance Reader Review - 7.9

Conclusion: I really enjoyed this game. As a former geek and D&D player, I can say that this game represents the perfect combo of video game and RPG. It's a fun hack'n'slasher that has enough RPG stuff to keep dice-rollers happy. There are ton's of weapons and armor to use, plus a great selection of spells and feats. The story line is a bit generic, but who cares? It also has a kick-ass two player co-op mode! You and a friend(or enemy) can beat up some gelatinous cubes!
Not so much Baldur's Gate Lite as Baldur's Gate Weightless

Summary: The original Baldur's Gate (PC) games, along with the quirky but brilliant Planescape: Torment, were superb, involving, immersive games which between them claimed at least 3000-4000 hours of my life, and so when I saw a Baldur's Gate / Bioware badged game for my recently acquired Xbox I didn't hesitate to buy it. A Baldur's Gate game I hadn't played? How could I resist? So first the bad news: Dark Alliance is a very slick 'Diablo' clone, and unfortunately nothing more.
Summary: In my opinion, Baldur's Gate is a very good game that is definitely worth buying. It is a pure action RPG that consists of "hacking and slashing" your way through dungeons. Baldur's Gate has an extremely immersive environment. The graphics are at times stunning, most notably when walking through water - the ripple effects were breathtaking. The music is good as well, creating an eerie atmosphere.
Excerpt: "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is excellent in many ways - it has wonderfully animated graphics, superb voice dialogue, fun gameplay and a pleasing soundtrack - but it just doesn't last long enough. The game is too short! Those of you unfamiliar with the Baldur's Gate series need not despair - I had never played any BG game before, and I still managed to get through this one without any problems. You start the game by selecting from one of three ...
Pros: Fantastically Fun Action Packed Hack n Slash RPG
Summary: I bought this game expecting it to be like Baldurs gate on the P.C(a classic role playing game)However what i got was a more arcadey style of game a bit like the arcade classic Gauntlet. The game can be played either single player and multiplayer and playing the single player i found a little dull and soon found my thumb hurting from bashing the attack button as wave after wave of monsters attacked me. However get one of your friends around and the fun really starts!
Summary: I like the other reviewers had great expectations for this title. Having played, enjoyed and been immersed in the world of Baldurs Gate on the PC I was all set to don my (virtual) armour, pick up my controller and set out once again to venture on the Sword Coast. But I didn't get what I expected.
Summary: I completed this game within 3 days, there are lots of enemies, weapons, you can import players from previous games and continue to redo the game in hard level, after you have finished on any level you can get to run the gauntlet and I thought the fact that you could play 2 player brill but my only complaint is that it is too SHORT with only 3 chapters, and only 3 characters to choose from, Dwarf (fighter), Human (archer) and Elven (scorceress).
