Army Men Major Malfunction Review

IGN Entertainment
9 February 2008
  • Conclusion: There’s plenty to moan and groan about when it comes to Army Men: Major Malfunction , but the fact is that it’s just not much fun to play. The camera is a headache waiting to happen and the rest of the gameplay mechanics don’t fare much better. It’s a shame considering that this is a series that I actually used to somewhat enjoy playing. Bad graphics, boring levels, and poorly constructed environments don’t help in the fun factor either.

Army Men: Major Malfunction Review

22 May 2006
  • Excerpt: Film buffs remember when the drill sergeant played by R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket encountered the mentally unstable Private Pyle holding a rifle in the bathroom and yelled, "What is your major malfunction?!" Pyle responded by firing a round right into the drill sergeant's chest. You'll feel about the same way if you make the mistake of buying Army Men: Major Malfunction.
  • Pros: The subtitle is derived from an R. Lee Ermey quote
  • Cons: Horrible problems with aiming and camera control, Enemy artificial intelligence is just about nonexistent, The mumbling speech in the game is annoying, Ugly graphics
