Excerpt: Today I'll be reviewing Armed&Dangerous for the Xbox console. I'll skip the data section right away and tell you one thing:This, my friends, is a TRUE GAMING GEM. When you try this one out for the first time (without having looked at the packaging/the manual lol) you will notice right away that this game is HILARIOUS:The first cutscenes will give you quiet a few laughs, the whole game will do so.The characters have a very own personality and it is just so funny to see...
Excerpt: Armed and Dangerous looks good, but isn't one of the Xbox's crowning achievements. Overall, the game is very blurry, and feels like it is done at one of the lowest possible resolutions on the Xbox. Cut scenes seem to take the brunt of this low-res punishment. The movie quality is about a notch or two above the resolution of a PlayStation game. They're dirty, they're blurry -- but at least they're entertaining. In-game graphics are a little better, but not by much.
Excerpt: Planet Moon Studios is probably not one of the most famous game developers around. Their first published title Giants: Citizen Kabuto was one of those games with lots of original content, but that didn't seem to have been noticed by many. Armed and Dangerous features the same action packed gameplay as Giants, only this time it’s more polished, and has a nice finishing touch.
Excerpt: Usually you would only see Star Wars games out of Lucas Arts. Since the beginning of the next-generation era, they have been releasing a bigger variety of games outside of Star Wars. Armed and Dangerous is a wacky third person shooter that places you in the world of Roman and his friends in the Lionhearts. Together, they are a group of thieves who act like Robin Hood and give the money they steal to the poor, but is this a good game to buy? Maybe, you be the judge.
Conclusion: Armed and Dangerous is pure, unadulterated, shooting fun and offers a fresh coat of paint to a tired genre. If you're looking for anything more than a flat out action shooter, you're not going to find it here, but that's the beauty of the game and why it stands out above the plethora of shooters out there. The absence of co-operative and any online play is a serious let down, as it is so much fun and could have been even more-so online with friends.
Pros: furious Fantastic Fighting Fun!, masses of enemies to kill, destructive environments, some of the funniest cutscenes, largest kill count on the xbox!
Cons: no co-op or Live play, controls are awkward, window dressing is a little repetitive, as is the action
