Conclusion: From the initial showing of Armed & Dangerous at E3 2003 I was extremely excited to see LucasArts picking up a title that really seemed to break away from the norm. After playing the game extensively the luster of the story and insane weapons which captivated me initially soon wore off. I soon found myself playing through the game, not because I really enjoyed the gameplay, but more so to see the next cut-scene.
Conclusion: On the plus side, A&D is the perfect outlet for your frustrations, barring a few simple search type puzzles it's pure non-stop no-brainer shooty-blasting action. On the downside it's an occasionally painfully unfunny and disappointing game. Levels end abruptly and without any clear goals, and the mission statistics screen looks embarrassingly tacked-on. A fun game initially, things soon become a repetitive chore with an ever growing frustration level.
Pros: Some nice visuals. Great explosions. Brilliantly imaginative weaponry.
Cons: Despite a few laughs and thrills at the start, overall A&D is a deeply unfunny game that is far too repetitive and simplistic to recommend.
