Summary: If you grew up playing videogames in the 1980's, this game is a must have. This is what we grew up playing, and it is always nice to take a look back at your roots. For $20, Midway Arcade Treasures is a solid purchase. Videogames have changed a lot over the last twenty years. Midway Arcade Treasures is a great way for young Xbox owners to see what gaming was like back then, and is also an inexpensive way for older gamers to take a step back in time to their younger days...
Pros: Great value for $20., Lots of classic arcade games, Bonus interviews with developers
Cons: Some games don't hold up as well as others, Ugly menus, Graphics aren't arcade perfect
Conclusion: Midway Arcade Treasures allows both the older arcade fans and the younger game history buffs to enjoy the titles which made home consoles what they are today. When producing a compilation, the most important factors are the faithfulness to the original productions and the quality of each individual title. Arcade Treasures combines both with a slick menu interface to create a must-play title for anyone who has even a modicum of interest in 80’s pop culture.
Excerpt: Someone finally got it right. Midway Arcade Treasures is, simply, the best arcade compiliation disc I've ever seen. Most of 'em--and here, I'm sort of casting a knowing, accusatory look in the vague direction of the Namco Museum series--consist of one unquestionably classic game, paired up with four or five mediocre or obscure ones.
Excerpt: The Antiques Roadshow came to town this week. Normally, the influx of tat-wielding pensioners would keep me indoors for the duration and for some time afterwards (they need a couple of days extra to steer their Hillman Imps toward the motorway slip roads). This week though, I’ve got Midway Arcade Treasures in my possession. Blue rinse be damned, I wanna know how much this little antique would fetch at market. The queues were horrendous.
Excerpt: Retro games, whether they date back to 8 and 16-bit console games or early arcade days, usually come highly welcomed amongst a minority of hardcore gamers who like to indulge in a little nostalgic pleasure every now and then. Packages such as Atari Anniversary Edition and the Namco Museum series have been well received. Now long-time industry giant Midway has release the ultimate collection for Xbox, cleverly titled Midway Arcade Treasures.

Conclusion: Despite a very poor showing in the audio-visual departments, Midway Arcade Treasures is a fairly cool compilation for gamers who remember all the classics, but those who have been gaming for a decade or less will probably find it incredibly annoying and not that much fun.
