Excerpt: Firstly, what attracted me to this game was the event itslef (obviously), i had watched the England v Sweden game when i really had the urge to play a decent footy game, cos in my opinion, thier hasnt been a decent, worhtwhile one since ISS Pro on the PSone. Maybe im wrong, but hey- i thought the fifa games from the last few years have been rather tedious, with an exception of the last World Cup (98) game which was a corker.
Summary: As we have come to expect now from the X-Box, this game is a visual treat right from the off with a slick menu and some uncanny player models that look like their real-life counterparts (the Steve McManaman, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane models are particularly good). Sound is good and the game runs at a cracking pace when put on Fastest mode (the normal mode is way too sluggish for me).
Summary: OK, I haven't played Pro Evolution Soccer. But I love the world cup, there is nothing else that can touch it. This game REALLY makes you feel you are IN the world cup! Extra time golden goal, penalties, last minute equaliser. Stick your XBOX through a surround system and a big TV and you will be transported halfway across the world. It really is that atmospheric. Great fun to play even in one player mode.
Summary: Well i've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Fifa 2002 on the XBOX, and received one day after release. This game is graphically excellent, and really captures the emotions of the world cup. Game play is natural, although it is far too eay to win the world cup after a few games, i beat argentina 8-0 twice - pity it's not going to quite like that at the real thing - and as for the game, you can start hitting reality by turning up the difficulty level on the main menu.
Summary: Ah, here we are again - the World Cup. And to get you in the mood, here we have the latest Fifa World Cup footy game. So, is it any good? Well, Yes it is actually. Graphically, it is superior to any other footy game I have played. Although there are a number of errors which you can pick up yourselves. John Motson and Andy Gray are on hand to either grate on you or inform you with their wit and knowledge. And you can actually recognise a number of the players on show.
Summary: Probably the best football game I have played. Good animations and easy to pick up the basic controls (needs practice for special moves). As this is the world cup version you can only play in that tournament or a one match friendly (non world cup nations included eg Scotland!) Maybe a short term game, though good none the less.
Summary: Only got it today so these views are first opinions only. Presentation is usual exemplary EA Sports fayre. The gameplay is good once you've whacked the speed up to the max. Tackling is a bit cack and the through ball function could be better thought out but on the whole the passing and shooting is fine. The graphics are very good with only a couple of odd looking players. The detail is quite amazing, you can spot logos on the players socks.
Summary: Well as you all of you should know Fifa is the king of football games closley followed by the ISS series and then followed by the other attempets game comapnies have made, like David Beckham Soccer, Actua Soccer and adidas pro soccer. Well to start off with Fifa: World Cup has a different way of controlling you passes, shots and through balls to the way Fifa 2002 was made.
