Summary: One reviewer states that the game is too easy. Yes, the game starts on an easy setting. But simply turn the difficulty to Pro, and you're in for a challenge. Undoubebly a great football title. Like most EA football games.
Excerpt: This game is a complete waste of money. It's basically a DOWN-GRADE of FIFA 2002, with some changes to make it into the World Cup Edition. FIFA 2002 World Cup only has two modes of play; friendly and World Cup. In friendly mode you can choose between about 35 teams and a selection of stadiums, all of which were part of the World Cup 2002.
Excerpt: FIFA 2002, it must be Christmas again, well nearly; no actually this is the summer version, World cup 2002 (FIFA 11, I think). With the world cup we come to expect a new FIFA release, but are these games any good and is this one the best or even better? Well the answer to these questions is this, again it?s better than that years but not in giant leap terms. The game has been completely overhauled in the passing area of things, which is what it needed.
Excerpt: Firstly, what attracted me to this game was the event itslef (obviously), i had watched the England v Sweden game when i really had the urge to play a decent footy game, cos in my opinion, thier hasnt been a decent, worhtwhile one since ISS Pro on the PSone. Maybe im wrong, but hey- i thought the fifa games from the last few years have been rather tedious, with an exception of the last World Cup (98) game which was a corker.
Excerpt: Despite EA Sports? annual/biannual unleashing of Fifa clones, I?d heard some good press about this one, tested it in a games store and just had to purchase - what an excellent game I have bought! After an intriguing prologue and introduction comprising of various fascinating football moments and a classical orchestra, one is welcomed by an authentic official Korea Japan pre-menu screen, with a spirited flashing ?press start? animation. I?m in.
Summary: When I initially heard that a Fifa title was being released on my beloved XBOX I was delighted, I knew I was going to get something that had a superb build quality to it. Then after my first play I was mightily disappointed, I seemed unable to head the ball and my passes always went astray of their target. Then with practice I learnt how to get my passes to go the correct player and my striker to head that wonder goal.
Excerpt: I purchased FIFA 2002 World Cup after reading a lot about it. I also purchased it because i had and really enjoyed World Cup 98 on the PSX. After becoming slightly bored of PES i needed a new football game. FIFA 2002 was supposedly crap and This is Football definitely was crap. I was in need of a lifeline, then along came FIFA 2002 World Cup. I was saved! The graphics are superb, with the player faces looking very realistic.
Summary: This is by far the worst football game I have yet played. Don't get me wrong, the graphics are superb, and the abilities of the players excellent. But on my first attempt i got to the final! Says it all. Far too easy - definitely designed for kids. Grown up kids - dont bother!
Excerpt: As another World Cup approaches, another official Fifa game gets released. 1994, 1998 and now again in 2002 ? and this version?s fantastic. Maybe it?s just me, but I?m sure you?ve noticed a great improvement in EA sport?s games recently & with the latest incarnation of the most popular sports game in the world you will certainly not be disappointed. The first thing you?ll notice is the superb visuals.
Excerpt: I am not a huge sports sim fan, I tend not to like playing them as I would prefer to play it in real life, But... The game starts with a beautiful intro using actual video footage and real live sound, not some of the computer generated doodah that's around nowadays. Then up comes a screen with the annoying press start... "I've already pushed start you glorified doorstop" you yell at the screen, and then five options appear.
