I've spent days trying to get it to work. ...

  • Summary: I've spent days trying to get it to work. It worked for awhile, but then disconnected. I thought it would be plugNplay, but I'm about to toss it into the heap of other networking hardware that failed to live up to it's reputation and specifications.

  • Summary: I have used a home computer since 1981. After 1 1/2 days, I had to abandon my attempts to install the WAP 3205 v2 on my home network. The manual is full of errors. Even worse is the absence of complete instructions and needed diagrams. I have never had a worse experience with a computer product.

Failed within 6 months

Michael L., Newegg
3 January 2015
  • Summary: I'm gonna do more research before purchase another replacement.
  • Pros: Was reliable until it failed.
  • Cons: I basically use it as an access point. I own 3 of these and this one just failed within 5 months of owning and an older version failed after a year and it while the other is still running strong with fast ups and downs. This one that failed has drastic reduction of speeds.

  • Summary: Quick start guide, which is all there was, came in 20 different languages. 191 page owners manual was online - - downloadable if you wanted to print it. The simple steps in the quick start guide enabled the ZyXEL to connect to my laptop, but I was never able to connect the ZyXEL to my wireless router. Online video didn't help either. Couldn't get past the 1st step where I was to enter enter an IP address that would take me to the 3205 setup window.

impossibly horrible instructions

Badger, B&H Photo
14 September 2014
  • Excerpt: Unbelievably vacant instructions. Say just log on. But it would not log on. Then try to find support. When I eventually found the support link, I emailed my information and now continue to wait for a reply. So, I cannot tell you whether it works or not because it cannot be hooked up. By the way, I am not unfamiliar with computers.

AWFUL

aj, Amazon
25 August 2014
  • Summary: This is a horrible piece of equipment and is impossible to set up. It provided you with a set up CD which only worked to an extent. You have to really know what you're doing when it comes to computers. This is not for people that do not know their way around a computer. DO NOT PURCHASE.

  • Summary: If you decide that this product is what you want then as soon as you connect it phone Technical support at 1(800)255-4101 option#5 because it doesn't work as advertised. Tried it on Win 7 Pro then 7 Home then XP (I have several computers in my home network).....it is not PNP ! No specific help from ZyXEL forums or bulletin's etc. If you do not have at least a bachelors degree in IT then do not try this one on !

It doesn't worth the money

Angel F., Newegg
14 August 2014
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: This is not a good extender at all. I've been using it for a week now I had to reset it several time. It lost the configuration without reason. Besides it doesn't extend the wireless more than the router I have. It doesn't worth the money
