Summary: I am disappointed in the PLA4225 and PLA4205. I have been working to get good network signal from my living to a bedroom (about 10 meters away). To be fair, I have to say that the hardware worked right out of the box. The throughput was awful 5 MBPS, no so great for a product that state ate least 100 MBPS. My computer has an Intel Gigabit Ethernet card .
Summary: I've had these powerline adapters for about a year now. Overall, I am disappointed. Speeds are fine, but connection consistency is VERY unreliable. I was getting very frequent "soft" connection drops where I'd lose network access for a short amount of time. This was very frustrating when playing games online or downloading files. I went through an RMA process with Zyxel that was a little muddled but overall fine. I got two new adapters.
Summary: Works as advertised and I like that it shuts off when no data is being used. I bought this to improve on a stuttering wifi signal that kept dropping during movies. Although this works very well and I never have signal issues anymore I dropped 1 star because it seems to take a minute or so to stabilize when it connects. After that you're streaming with no interruptions.
Summary: Complete waste of time. Didn't work when I bought it, and doesn't work months later when I tried again. Instructions are awful. I don't see how to make it join my existing network. Maybe it has to be the only network in the house, but who could know one way or the other? The devices don't show up in the setup utility.
Summary: This product works great solution to apartment living where running ethernet through the attic and making outlets in the wall isn't really ideal, but I wish powerline adapters were a little faster. Since there are no walls between my computer, router, or tv, I'm starting to wonder if an 802.11 AC router and wireless adapter would have given me better performance.
Summary: I have had great success with these adapters. As a matter of fact, this is the second set I have purchased in the past year. I ran into an issue where my internet modem/router can only be installed in my bedroom. Due to the age of the apartment I lived in, the internet installation rep told me he can place the modem/router in my bedroom or my kids' bedroom, which are both far from the living room (where my desktop computer was stationed).
I would highly recommend this product even though I was admittedly quite skeptical

Summary: You will notice definite speed loss as opposed to the system(s) directly hardwired to your router, but it still packs a phenomenal bandwidth transfer. I am utilizing a 50 Mbps connection and the rig on the opposite end of my powerline adapter is running at about fifty percent. Considering that my average connection on direct hardwire is generally about eighty percent of the advertised speeds this is rather remarkable.
Summary: I could have run Cat5 cable outside my house and drilled holes in the walls but with these I have no need to. They are fantastic. No configuration needed. I connected a single 1Gbps adapter to my router so it wouldn't be a bottleneck and placed others around my house. They increased latency only 1ms during ping tests which is tiny.
