S L O W

turner m., Newegg
22 January 2013
  • Summary: Obtained 3 Mb/sec on two adapters within 20 feet of each other, far less than advertised. Sometimes adapters wouldn't connect at all.
  • Pros: Nice solid Adapter
  • Cons: Slow Setup is Derpy, and will probably need to be done multiple times to get adapters to connect.

User Review

Craig S., Newegg
6 October 2012
  • Summary: Attempted to get a connection between the house and the shop, a distance of less than 100' but got a very poor connection. Had to select the phase to work at all. The unit seemed to be quite sensitive to EMI on the power line.
  • Pros: Easy to set up and worked out of the box.
  • Cons: Killed my Logitech RF mouse link. I pluged the unit and got my second computer connected to the net throuth the ZYXEL link. Then went back to the main computer and the mouse was almost non responsive. Unpluged the ZYXEL and the mouse operated normally. Seems the unit generates enough RFI to kill ...

Powerline adapter with awful config software & bad instructions

Tom Servo, Amazon

Not Cutting It

Donald Z., Newegg
5 September 2011
  • Summary: Ended up moving my router closer to the office so I could use a wireles bridge (engenius EC 89500 works well).
  • Pros: Pretty simple setup - used advice from othere reviews and setup without using cd. Worked well in same outlet.
  • Cons: Seperated two units by 2 floors in house and could not get a consistent connection. When it worked it worked well but it would fade in and out.

Great idea, poorly executed

E. Pope "EP", Amazon
1 July 2011
  • Summary: These set up very easily but a big caution: If there is any kind of filter, noise, surge protectors or even too much wire between the units they will not work. I find that when I have them on outlets on the same breaker they work fine but go across breakers, through power strips, through surge...

Works but not good

Mir Islam "mislam", Amazon

  • Summary: After reading all the glorious reviews here I got two sets of this kit. Initially I was ecstatic ! It worked right out of the box. A truly plug and play. I was downloading from the internet at full 10Mbps (according to speedtest.net). I thought everything was good.
